In a joint status update filed in federal court, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team claimed that former Trump campaign head Paul Manafort had lied to investigators after promising to cooperate with Mueller as part of a plea agreement. On Sept. 14, Manafort pleaded guilty on charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States and witness tampering. Manafort has remained in prison awaiting sentencing. Part of the update reads: "The plea agreement provides that if the defendant fails to fulfill completely “each and every one” of his obligations under this agreement, or “engages in any criminal activity prior to sentencing,” the defendant will be in breach of the agreement. A breach relieves the government of any obligations it has under the agreement, including its agreement to a reduction in the Sentencing Guidelines for acceptance of responsibility, but leaves intact all the obligations of the defendant as well as his guilty pleas."Manafort's counsel disputed the FBI's claims. The report states, "After signing the plea agreement, Manafort met with the government on numerous occasions and answered the government’s questions. (KGTV) — A suspected drunk driver nearly hit several beach-goers Sunday, before his SUV ended up in the ocean.The driver, identified as 50-year-old Jorge Mosti, was driving in the 1600 block of Seacoast Dr. just after 6:30 p.m., when witnesses say his SUV left the roadway and onto the beach, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.As he continued onto the beach, SDSO said Mosti nearly hit several people as he drove about a mile down the beach. His vehicle ended came to a stop partially submerged on IB's coastline.Mosti reportedly then jumped out of the vehicle and started walking toward Tijuana. He made it about half a mile before deputies caught up to him. (AP) — Alabama police say a dispute over crab legs at a dinner buffet ended in a brawl that left two people facing misdemeanor charges.Huntsville police officer Gerald Johnson says he was eating at the Meteor Buffet restaurant when a fight broke out.Johnson tells WHNT-TV that diners were using service tongs like fencing swords and plates were shattering, and a woman was beating a man. Johnson says diners had been waiting in line for crab legs for more than 10 minutes, and they lost their tempers once the food came out.The station reports Chequita Jenkins is charged with assaulting John Chapman, who suffered a cut on his head. Hurricane Willa is nearing the Pacific coast of Mexico as a potentially catastrophic Category 5 storm, after experiencing what the National Hurricane Center called "explosive" strengthening over the past 48 hours.Willa's maximum sustained winds, as of Monday morning, were 160 mph, making it a top-of-the-scale hurricane. Its current intensity is slightly more than Hurricane Michael's when it made landfall in Florida's Panhandle less than two weeks ago.The storm has supercharged at an incredible rate since it formed over the weekend. From Sunday morning to Monday morning, Hurricane Willa strengthened 80 mph in only 24 hours, and went from forming into a tropical storm on Saturday morning to a Category 5 in less than 48 hours.The official forecast from the National Hurricane Center calls for Willa to weaken some before landfall, but the storm is still expected to be a major hurricane, likely still a high-end Category 4, when it makes landfall on Tuesday afternoon. 983
