As calls for police reform permeate among supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, the Fraternal Order of Police announced on Friday it has endorsed Donald Trump for president. The FOP, which is the nation’s largest police union with 355,000 members, endorsed Trump for the second time. The union has not endorsed a Democrat for president since 1996. The FOP endorsed George W. Bush in 2004 and 2004, John McCain in 2008, and did not issue a formal endorsement in 2012.“During his first four years, President Trump has made it crystal clear that he has our backs,” FOP President Patrick Yoes said. “Our members know that he listens to the concerns of our brothers and sisters in uniform and is able to make tough decisions on the issues most important to law enforcement. President Trump is committed to keeping our communities and families safe.”While Democratic nominee Joe Biden did not win over the support of the FOP, the Biden campaign responded on Friday by announcing it has garnered support from 190 law enforcement officials throughout the US.The list distributed by the Biden campaign includes current and former sheriffs, prosecutors and attorneys general.“Joe Biden has always stood on the right side of the law and is offering a much needed vision for our Nation. When asked the question, would you feel safe in Joe Biden’s America? The answer is yes,” said Retired Chief and former President of the Major Cities Chiefs Association, Tom Manger. “I’ve worked with Vice President Biden for years and know that he can heal the divide in our Country. He has condemned violence of all kinds, and there is no question that I would feel safe in Joe Biden’s America.”Previously, Yoes expressed his support for “Operation Legend,” a program launched by the White House to send federal agents to cities dealing with unrest following the death of George Floyd.“Law enforcement and the maintenance of public safety is primarily the responsibility of local governments,” Yoes explained. “But in too many of our cities, the violence has reached such levels that local agencies need additional resources. Our men and women in uniform in these jurisdictions are demoralized by anti-police rhetoric and they are exhausted from lengthy shifts in response to the pandemic. They desperately need the help that the President is going to provide.” 2353

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KGTV) -- Disneyland announced Monday that Oga’s Cantina will start taking reservations up to two months in advance. The resort Tweeted that, starting October 21, the cantina, along with Savi’s Workshop and the Droid Depot will begin offering the reservations up to 60 days ahead of time. The announcement was followed by a tweet announcing new food coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. “We’ve got an intergalactic shipment of several new menu items flying into the Black Spire Outpost this week, and you won’t want to miss them,” the resort said in a blog post. The cantina is the only spot in Disneyland that serves alcohol. Those who step inside the restaurant are entertained by droid DJ R-3X, a former Starspeeder 3000 pilot, according to the resort. AMHERST, N.Y. — 8-year-old Caleb Kabala of Amherst said he has a passion for helping other people.“I just like helping other kids and it makes me feel good,” he said. And while Caleb is just a kid himself, he’s proving you are never too young to give back.“I just wanted to help children cause that’s what I usually do.”For the last two weeks, Caleb and his grandma have been selling framed pictures of Santa at pop-up events throughout Western New York. And the Santa seen in each picture frame is the colorful creation of Caleb himself.“The outpouring that he has gotten it's just been... it hasn't stopped," Caleb's grandma said. Money from every picture sold goes straight to charity.“This week we’re gonna donate to the little heroes," Caleb said. "And every other week we’re gonna pick a different charity to donate to.”Caleb plans on selling these picture frames year-round and with different themes. And his reasoning for it was simple.“So I can help out more and more kids,” he said.Right now, Caleb’s picture frames can be purchased on his website for . An ailing and emaciated orca named Scarlet could get food and antibiotics soon -- if biologists can find her before it's too late.Scarlet is among a group of endangered, rapidly dwindling Southern Resident killer whales that frequent the Pacific Northwest.US biologists are racing to find the underweight 3-year-old animal to administer antibiotics either through food or by injection, but she could be dead or in Canada.Scarlet, also known as J50, was last seen in Canadian waters Saturday, on the west side of Vancouver Island. The 3-year-old orca's condition is so poor, she may not survive and is running out of time, scientists said. She is underweight and lethargic with periods of inactivity, and does not appear to be feeding. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said its effort will involve shooting antibiotics in the orca to aid with recovery and using a local tribe to feed them fish that has medicine, a rare practice that has not been tried in the wild before. 997
