SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - Doorbell camera video of a coyote following a man on a dog walk in Santee may be another example of coyotes becoming more aggressive in the area.On Monday after 9 p.m. on a quiet residential street, Ring doorbell camera video captures a man walking his dog. Moments later, something emerges from the shadows. It a coyote, and it's in an hurry. The video posted on the Ring app is titled "Beware coyote chasing a man with dog." That's exactly what appears to be happening. In the video, the coyote runs down the street before cutting in the man's direction. It's not clear if the coyote did catch up to the man or dog.Last week, 10News reported on Michelle Cimmarrusti's morning walk with Presley, an 8-year-old Silky Terrier. It unfolded on Palm Glen Drive, about a half mile from the site of the newest video. Two coyotes emerged from a bush and attacking Presley, while he was on his leash. Presley lunged, snapping his collar. He and the coyotes would end in a condo complex, where Presley was killed.Presley was the second dog killed by a coyote in the neighborhood in the last few weeks. Experts say coyotes attacking a leashed dog is a sign they're getting more aggressive in an area, and less afraid of humans, whether is food scarcity or the unintentional feeding of coyotes. 1315

Sayfullo Saipov has been charged with federal terrorism offenses in connection with Tuesday's attack in Manhattan in which eight people were killed, according to a charging document from the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.Saipov, a 29-year-old Uzbek national who was living in New Jersey, is being charged with providing material support to ISIS and violence and destruction of motor vehicles.[Previous story, published at 5:13 p.m. ET]The suspect in New York's deadliest terror attack since 9/11 had planned the attack for weeks and carried out the killings "in the name of ISIS," John Miller, NYPD deputy commissioner for intelligence and counterterrorism, said on Wednesday.Authorities identified the suspect as Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, a 29-year-old Uzbekistan native who came to the US legally in 2010. Saipov allegedly drove a rented truck onto a well-trafficked bike path just blocks from the World Trade Center on Tuesday afternoon.Eight people were killed and more than a dozen injured as the driver carved a path of destruction through several blocks of Lower Manhattan. Saipov crashed the rented truck into a school bus, left the vehicle brandishing imitation firearms and was shot by police, officials said. He survived and was taken into custody, police said.In carrying out the attack, Saipov relied on the playbook laid out by ISIS in recent years, officials said. Miller said that handwritten notes in Arabic found near the scene had both symbols and words, but the general message was that the Islamic State would endure forever."He appears to have followed almost exactly to a 'T' the instructions that ISIS has put out in its social media channels before with instructions to their followers on how to carry out such an attack," Miller said.  1799

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — It's not paper or plastic that's taking over a Scottsdale, Arizona recycling center — it's trash. Every day at Republic Services workers line a conveyer belt scouring for items that don't belong. But the belts are moving slower than they used to. That's because so much trash has been moving through, workers need more time to pick it out. "A cushion like this, not recyclable," Richard Coupland with Republic Services said. "Baby seats, not recyclable." But it's not just time-consuming. Coupland said when you put things that don't belong into a recycle bin, it can contaminate the other items that do belong. In return, that produces more trash. "Focus on your fundamental material, but most importantly that it's empty, clean and dry," he said. Fundamental material includes paper, plastic, aluminum and cardboard. However, if you're recycling a ketchup bottle, it must be completely empty and rinsed out. All the trash coming through the center is also costing more money. Coupland said China was at one time one of the largest buyers of recyclable material. However, the center has stopped shipping items there. "They've lowered their acceptable criteria from 3 percent to .5 percent," Coupland said. "That's a level that few folks are able to achieve right now without making significant changes to their operation." That's forcing the company to sell all it's paper, plastic, and aluminum to different markets, at a cost. "Those markets are not able to pay the same value for the material," Coupland said.In return, that can cost you more when it comes to pick up fees. However, you can help by being conscious about what you put in your bin. "Many don't realize that the bottom of a pizza box which is contaminated with grease of a pizza, that's trash," Coupland said. "No one is interested in buying that. So the proper thing to do is rip the box, give me the top and throw away the bottom."  2052

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - After a heart attack nearly killed him at age 46, Adam Bavario is now thanking his doctors, and his dog.For 27 years Bavario was a medic and police officer in Los Angeles. He says while he loved the job it caused a lot of added stress on him physically and mentally. During his 30's Bavario started having health issues and chest pains, but every time doctors ran tests they couldn't find anything wrong.The misdiagnosis almost killed him five months ago. "I knew I was having a heart attack. I went to grab my phone and passed out on the floor," said Bavario.He was suffering one of the deadliest heart attacks, known as the widow maker. "One of his major arteries was 100 percent blocked, and if that doesn’t get opened in time or quickly, there's a potential for something catastrophic," said Dr. Karim El-Sherief, an Interventional Cardiologist at Tri-City Medical Center.While unconscious, Bavario's sleeping dog Roxy awoke and sensed he was in trouble, licking and nudging him until he woke up. “The ironic thing about Roxy is Roxy is completely deaf from birth, she had enough awareness to come in and get me up," said Bavario.He was able to call 911 and then first responders from the San Marcos Fire Department got Bavario to Tri-City Medical Center in minutes. Dr. El-Sherief and his team were able to treat Bavario in record time for the hospital, 27 minutes. Now Bavario is using his free time to advocate for cardiac awareness. "What I can tell you is get checked out, do your routines," Bavario says.Dr. El-Sherief says with proper screenings along with diet and exercise, these heart attacks can be prevented. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) - A San Diego Police motorcycle officer suffered leg injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the South Bay Friday.The collision was reported just before 10 a.m. on westbound SR-905 at I-805. The officer was conducting a vehicle stop of a red SUV when a white pickup collided with the officer's motorcycle. The motorcycle then collided with the SUV, knocking the officer 70 feet down an embankment.The officer was able to call in the collision on their own. The officer was transported to UCSD Medical Center with leg injuries of unknown severity.10NEWS LIVE TRAFFIC CONDITIONSThe driver of the truck remained at the scene.
