(KGTV) - For the third time in recent months, a local Boy Scout troop is coping with a heartbreaking theft.As they were getting ready to leave on a camping trip Friday, Boy Scout Troop 722 in Vista realized their camping trailer was gone.Without a trailer, future trips are now in jeopardy.The trailer was parked in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church parking lot when someone broke the padlock and stole the trailer. Because the troop has dealt with vandalism in the past, all their gear is kept in a shipping container. The trailer has a unique bolt on its door, which was put in to prevent people from breaking in.Replacing the trailer will cost the troop ,000.Community members can donate on a Go Fund Me page set up for the troop. If you spot the trailer, contact the Vista Sheriff's Department.In September, a Chula Vista Troop's trailer was stolen, as well as one earlier this month one in University City. WASHINGTON (AP) — A vehicle collision between U.S. and Russian forces in eastern Syria has left four U.S. troops with concussions. That's according to two U.S. officials who are speaking on condition of anonymity to provide details that haven't been made public yet. It's the most violent skirmish in months between the two forces. One official says Russian vehicles sideswiped a light-armored U.S. military vehicle, injuring four Americans. The official says two Russian helicopters flew above the Americans, and one of the aircraft was within about 70 feet the vehicle. There have been several other recent incidents between the American and Russian troops who all patrol in eastern Syria, but officials describe this one as the most serious. 752

(KGTV) — Two men were arrested after stealing a car and crashing into another vehicle Tuesday in the North County.The two men carjacked a driver at gunpoint just before 3 p.m. in the 900 block of Postal Way in Vista, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department. After yanking the driver out of his vehicle and taking off, the two men soon crashed into another vehicle, before fleeing.A detective who happened to be in the area heard the call over the radio and started searching for the suspect, SDSO said. When he spotted the suspects, he began to follow them and relay directions to an SDSO helicopter overhead.Deputies took over and a brief pursuit began. The two men crashed into a curb and fled the vehicle. Deputies caught both men after a foot chase.SDSO said a loaded gun and illegal drugs were discovered in the vehicle.SDSO said the two men, identified as Joseph Laxton and Ricardo Hernandez, were arrested on charges of carjacking, hit-and-run, a felon in possession of a firearm, drugs, violating parole, threat causing death or great bodily injury, and participating in a criminal street gang. 1128

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court is denying Congress access to secret grand jury testimony from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation through the November election. The justices agreed Thursday to hear the Trump administration’s appeal of a lower court order for the material to be turned over to the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives. The high court’s action will keep the documents out of congressional hands at least until the case is resolved, which is not likely to happen before 2021.
