SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Mayor Kevin Faulconer detailed his plan to bolster San Diego's infrastructure in a proposed budget Tuesday.The plan calls for a total of about 3 million in investments into the city's streets, parks, and water system — among other improvements. The investment in infrastructure is the largest in San Diego's history, according to the mayor's office.The investments are part of the mayor's proposed .8 billion budget, which City Council leaders are set to adopt at a June 11 meeting.RELATED: San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer unveils 2019 budget"After decades of neglect, we have a lot more to do, which is why I’m focused on fixing more streets, building more parks and making more neighborhood upgrades than ever before," Faulconer said in a release. "We also need to invest in aging buildings like those in Balboa Park so they stand the test of time and that’s exactly what this budget will do."Here's a look at some of the financial commitments the mayor's plan proposes:Pure Water: Among the commitments is a 1 million investment into Pure Water San Diego to create an independent, drought-proof local water supply for San Diego. The funds will also see new roofing installed for Balboa Park's Mingei International Museum and Air & Space Museum.Transportation: The plan puts 8 million toward transportation projects which consist of road paving, traffic signals, sidewalk improvements, and bridges. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — If you're trying to find a precious ticket to San Diego Comic-Con this summer, watch out for villainous scammers scalping fake badges.The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning that third-party sellers may sell fake badges."For consecutive years now, Comic-Con International has sold out in record time and obtaining a badge has become strenuous," the BBB writes. "One of the most pervasive scams BBB has found over the years is the reselling scam in which a scammer claims they bought a badge but can no longer attend the convention."MAP: Where to find you favorite Comic-Con exhibitsScammers may offer their fake badge, tricking customers into thinking they can change the name on their badge to theirs. But they can't and Comic-Con doesn't allow legitimate badge holders to do so."A key factor for consumers to remember is Comic-Con provides a refund at the buyer’s request, making it unnecessary to resell a ticket," BBB adds.The BBB says another common scam with SDCC badges is scammers sell "extra tickets." Comic-Con badgeholders are limited to one ticket each, so third-party sellers can't have extra badges to sell. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Just a few hours, and a few miles apart, San Diego Mayoral candidates Todd Gloria and Barbary Bry launched their final push for the upcoming election.A recent ABC 10News/Union-Tribune Survey USA poll shows a statistical dead-heat between the two candidates, with Gloria holding a slim 39-38% advantage over Bry. But that same poll also shows 24% of voters are still undecided."It's in times like these you want to be in the fight," Gloria said while holding an event outside of his campaign headquarters.Gloria spent the morning surrounded by the Local 145 Firefighters Union, as well as County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher. Gloria told ABC 10News his experience makes him the best candidate."The stakes will only get higher. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- It’s one of San Diego’s most iconic parks, but there’s a push to change its name and possibly everything it stands for.In September, two very different sides clashed at Chicano Park. The clash required police to break it up.The park is the heart of Barrio Logan and its murals are a colorful reminder of its history.Jorge Gonzales says it’s symbolic of the civil rights movement of the 70s. “These murals tell the story of the Civil Rights era. Right? That went far and beyond Barrio Logan and Chicano Park,” said Gonzales.Five people questioned that history in September at what was called the Patriotic Picnic.Police had to protect them from dozens of people who surrounded them in protest. “The murals are revolutionary. They're anti-American,” said activist Roger Ogden.Ogden was at the picnic and says political radicals and militants run Chicano Park. “It shouldn't be called Chicano Park. They could call it Hispanic Park, Latino Park and celebrate all the Hispanics and not just the militants. If you go down there and wave the US Flag, if I go down there I'm probably going to get beat up.”Ogden and several others shared the video from the picnic and their thoughts with the San Diego City Council on Tuesday.“You can celebrate the Hispanic culture but it should be broader and more inclusive. A lot of Hispanics wouldn't want to be called Chicano because it has a militant aspect to it,” said Ogden.Gonzales says the patriotic picnickers need to have a conversation with someone who understands the murals and who can translate the stories behind the paint.“I think there's a lot of miseducation. People have eyes and love for this park,” said Gonzales.That conversation could become another colorful reminder of the park’s history. 1771
