(CNN) -- Jollibee, the Philippines' largest fast food chain, is taking a big step to expand its business internationally.The company said it plans to acquire California-based Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which has nearly 1,200 stores across more than 25 countries. The brand's cafes serve brewed coffee and sweet blended drinks like chocolate cookie lattes and frozen mango sunrise ice blended tea.Jollibee wants to focus on growing the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf brand in Asia. In a press release, Jollibee's Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong said the deal will enable the company to "become an important player in the large, fast growing and profitable coffee business."Starbucks and Luckin Coffee have also been expanding their Asian businesses. Luckin announced this week it will partner with Kuwait-based company The Americana Group to set up a coffee retail business in the Middle East and India. (KGTV) — A federal judge has denied Stone Brewing's request for a preliminary injunction in its lawsuit against MillerCoors over its Keystone Light product cans.Stone's motion to dismiss MillerCoors' counterclaims were also denied. The injunction would have prevented MillerCoors from using the rebranded cans during trial, according to IP and craft beer attorney Brendan Palfrey. The judge added that the court agreed with Stone, "especially considering the marks incontestability, [Stone] is entitled to the strong protection afforded to suggestive marks."The case will likely now move to trial.Following the ruling, Stone's cofounder Greg Koch issued a statement, saying the court confirmed their case against MillerCoors.“This is a very big deal. The Court’s order confirms what we knew: that MillerCoors should be ashamed of what they have been doing. All along this has been a clear-cut infringement case, and now we can focus our resources on proving the significant damages done to the good name of Stone Brewing," Koch said.Stone CEO Dominic Engels added, "We are pleased that the Court recognized the validity of Stone’s infringement claims. And while it says it's for ladders to get over the wall, it's not in the literal sense.Instead, the campaign says it intends to donate the money raised to legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees though the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a Texas-based nonprofit."We saw some folks are raising money for a border wall to keep out our migrant siblings and fellow human beings, who are fleeing violence and persecution and whose tragically-underpaid labor is essential to the U.S. economy. Seems like a bad idea on countless levels for everyone involved," the campaign writes.
