SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man who was ambushed and shot eight times by two gunmen early Sunday morning suffered non-life-threatening injuries, a San Diego Police Department officer said.The shooting happened at around 12:20 a.m. at 4700 Uvas St. in the Chollas View neighborhood between 47th and Market streets in San Diego.A 27-year-old male victim was standing on the sidewalk when a white sedan pulled up, said SDPD officer Robert Heims. Two Hispanic males got out of the vehicle and fired several rounds at the victim, striking him eight times. The suspects got back in the car and fled northbound 4700 Uvas St., said Heims.The victim was transported to the hospital and with non-life-threatening injuries. No other information about the victim or his injuries was released at time.The suspects were described as Hispanic males wearing black plaid shirts. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A parole board Tuesday granted parole to an actor previously convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend nearly two dozen times.Shelley Malil, who had a supporting role in the movie “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” was convicted seven years ago of repeatedly stabbing Kendra Beebe in San Marcos.Beebe spoke to 10News after Malil was granted Parole. “Why are we letting out this person who’s going to go back out and go back on the internet and date and possibly relapse and hurt somebody else.” RELATED: 40-Year-Old Virgin actor deemed suitable for parole, 10 years after brutally stabbing ex-girlfriendAs of this year, Malil had served 9 years of his 12-years-to-life sentence. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A massive police presence was seen on the border of Clairemont and Bay Park after police received a call about a possible assault with a deadly weapon Monday. According to authorities, the incident happened on the 3300 block of Clairemont Avneue. After investigating, police say there was no assault. A child's grandmother called police saying there had been a shooting.The child's mother also showed up at the scene and told police the grandmother has a mental issue and that there had been no assault.  557

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A pursuit sparked an officer-involved shooting in Imperial Beach late Saturday night. According to police, officers tried to pull over a Ford F-150 that was reported stolen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 1900 block of Dairy Mart Road. Police say the driver didn’t stop, instead driving into a cul-de-sac, making a u-turn and driving toward officers. “Believing his partner was going to be run over, one officer fired his service weapon to defend the other officer,” police said in a news release. At some point during the pursuit, the suspect threw a handgun out of the truck. The woman has since been located while police continue to search for the suspect. Homicide detectives have been called to investigate due to an officer firing his weapon, police say. It’s unclear whether or not the suspect was hit. Police say the officer who fired at the suspect is a three-year veteran of the department. No officers were injured.
