FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) - Over the weekend a horrified Fallbrook family discovered their truck destroyed and they believe football loyalties fueled the vicious attack.Just behind a swing set along Gird Road are some displays of Jesse Wilson's pride for his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs. His mailbox is adorned with the Chiefs logo and colors. "I'm a solid fan. Watched them ever since I was a kid," said Wilson.On Sunday, hours after he watched his team clobber the Oakland Raiders, someone did the same to his 2017 Dodge Ram Laramie.RELATED: Football stolen during NFL game returned to player after hunt"It's anger and confusion," said Wilson.Wilson discovered the destruction Monday morning. "Noticed my antenna was bent, and the truck looked lower than normal ... the tires were flat," said Wilson.A closer look revealed shattered windows, deep scratches, and mangled mirrors and wipers. When I opened the door, I was greeted with the fact that it looks like someone had a really good time inside with something sharp," said Wilson.Just about every surface was sliced or smashed, including the mirrors and stereo. Wilson's wife Kelly doesn't know anyone with a grudge against them, but she's certain of the motive."It's ridiculous, and it's stupid," she said.The truck's back window, covered by a Chiefs sticker, was crushed into bits. A plastic Chiefs decal on the back of the truck was carefully chiseled off. A Chiefs flag that had been hanging at the front of the home was found more than 100 feet away, shredded and next to the truck.RELATED: Young boys stung by wasp swarm at North County park"Absolutely it was a message," said Kelly Wilson.It was also a costly one. The truck is totaled."Makes me frustrated that something my husband loves so much could fuel so much hatred in someone else. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun," she said. (KGTV) - Neighbors are calling for action from the City of Encinitas after a pair of crashes along a stretch of Manchester Avenue."It's too fast," says Judy Blanchard, who lives on Manchester. "They need to do some traffic calming."Friday, a car lost control coming around a curve near the 4200 block of Manchester Avenue and crashed into a light pole. Two days before that, a pair of cars collided near the same spot.People who live nearby say speed on the road is a constant problem."People gun it. They really do," says Blanchard. "All these wannabe fast drivers, it's exciting for them to come through the curve."Blanchard had a car crash through her front yard a few years ago. It almost knocked down her prized palm tree, Bubba.City officials tell 10News they studied the road in 2017. They sent this statement from the City Manager's Office:“Based on the California Vehicle Code (CVC) and California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA-MUTCD), an Engineering and Traffic Study (Speed Survey) was conducted in 2017 which showed the 85th percentile speed (the speed at or below which 85 percent of all vehicles are observed to travel under) on this roadway was 47 mph. As a result, the speed limit was set by the City at 40 mph which is the lowest speed limit legally allowed based on the results of the Speed Survey. The Sheriff’s Office has been notified to increase enforcement efforts along the corridor.” Neighbors say that may not be enough. They say the street needs more warning signs and the city should reduce lanes from two to one near Rancho Santa Fe Road. They don't want to straighten out curves in the road, believing it will lead to more speeding. 1705

ESCONDIDO, Cali. (KGTV) — A recently released video shows two burglars forcing their way into a hospice care nonprofit in Escondido.Jan Jones heads The Elizabeth Hospice. Its corporate offices sit on the third floor of an office building in the 500 block of La Terraza Blvd.  One day in July around 4 a.m., two people were recorded on surveillance video sneaking into the parking garage. Minutes later, they're at the main door of the nonprofit. One of the men tries the handle, but can't get in. Then they move onto another secure door, which requires a badge to open.Moments later, from a camera on the inside of the offices, the door is seen being yanked on over and over, before two men forced their way in.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodOne is wearing a hoodie. The other man is sporting a cap and a large backpack. They are seen going from room to room, raiding desks and shelves, and grabbing electronics. Then they split up and make their way out.  Among the items stolen are three laptops."No patient data, but they are used to provide the services we provide," said Jones.Also gone: A pricey camera used to make videos for critical training sessions."We care for people who are seriously ill, and we care for their families, and so anybody doing that would be heartless and should be brought to task. I think whoever did that has no soul," said Jones.The door the men damaged has been replaced by the landlord. The other damage is harder to undo.
