ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — If you tried to go to the Chuck E. Cheese with your children in St. Petersburg, Florida last Friday, July 27, you would have found the popular kid's place closed.Inspectors found more than 130 rodent droppings all over the kitchen inside the restaurant.Rodent activity was evident after finding dozens of droppings near racks of food, the chest freezer, pizza oven, deli table, drink station, dishwashing area, water heater, hallways, and dry storage room, the state documented.Inspectors also found rodent rub marks and six holes in the walls and ceilings including near the front counter area and toy storage room. All holes were about four to six inches in diameter which might be how the rodents were getting inside the restaurant.Among the 29 other violations recorded in two days, the state found dead roaches and accumulation of food debris/grease on pizza pans, interior of the keg cooler, on the self-serve drink station, behind the ice chute and soda nozzle areas and iced tea dispenser spigots. There was also no certified food service manager on duty. Chuck E. Cheese's restroom toilets were also not working properly, according to the state, with three toilets out of service in both the boys and girls restrooms.  1303

Special Counsel Robert Mueller spoke publicly for the first after his office's two-year investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.Mueller, who did not conclude the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government, also declined to clear President Trump of obstruction of justice. "If we had had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so," Mueller said. Mueller cited a longstanding justice department policy that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime. It's based on an interpretation of the U.S. Constitution. In other words, Mueller laid out the evidence, but it's up to Congress to act through impeachment. Meanwhile, Trump has continued to fight congressional subpoenas in the wake of the investigation. "If he continues with this behavior, I think it puts us in a position where we're headed down that road," said Rep. Scott Peters, a Democrat who represents that 52nd district. "I'm concerned about the impression we leave if we don't do anything in the face of this behavior."Peters stopped short of calling for impeachment Wednesday, as did Democratic Congressman Mike Levin. Last week, Democratic Congressman Juan Vargas became the first San Diego lawmaker to call for removal from office. Rep. Duncan Hunter, the county's loan Republican representative in Congress, issued a brief statement Wednesday defending the president."The case is closed," Hunter said. "Let's move on."Glenn Smith, who teaches constitutional law at California Western in downtown San Diego, said the Justice Department's constitutional interpretation is controversial. He points to a clause that says the penalty for impeachment cannot exceed removal from office and future disqualification. It continues that a convicted party shall be liable to the full legal system."The justice department relies on the argument that there's something unique about the office of the president," Smith said. "Involving the president in criminal proceedings before he's impeached and while he's still a sitting president would uniquely disrupt the president."But Smith added the vice president and cabinet members can be indicted in office, so to say the president is unique is putting the president above the law. That's the counterargument to the Justice Department's policy. 2318

Some say there’s a problem with the old proverb that if you give a man fish, you feed him for day, but if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime. Some argue that in order to complete a task, or learn a life lesson, people need access to the right equipment and education from someone with the right experience.“We didn’t get an opportunity like this,” said Hanifah Chiku while practicing flyfishing with her 6-year-old grandson Kamal during an event hosted by Colorado Blackpackers, a nonprofit on a mission to provide free gear, outdoor excursions and education to ethnic minorities.“We meet those who are at the intersection of economic vulnerability and under-representation,” said Patricia Cameron, founder of Colorado Blackpackers, a group she started a few years ago with the hopes of expanding to other states.“The opportunity to provide more outdoor experiences for people of color across the country, absolutely,” Cameron said.During the flyfishing clinic, Chiku said her grandson is learning great lessons while enjoying the great outdoors“They afford the opportunities to give people this experience and to come out and participate in different venues,” she said.Helping people learn how to properly set up a reel and rod are volunteers like Eeland Stribling, who says these events give people of color unique opportunities.“I feel a lot more community when I see people who kind of look like me,” he said. The classes and gear are free, with people like Kyle Fulmer donating outdoor supplies from his company RovR Products.“We want people, it doesn’t matter where you’re from, to be able to have the same access and opportunity in the outdoors,” he said.Cameron says Blackpackers is helping people learn life lessons while creating their own proverbs.“My tag line is: economic equity and outdoor recreation,” she said. 1850
