"Too much talking, not enough action," said John Munns, a South Bay resident and a member of the group, Citizens for Coastal Conservancy. Carlos Pena, with the IBWC, says it's a complicated issue that involves many moving parts. The plans discussed at the meeting involved improving the wastewater infrastructures in Tijuana or creating defense structures in the U.S. along the border to protect its communities from sewage runoff. It could also be a combination of both. However, each of the projects would cost millions of dollars. It would also take planning, funding, and construction. They are solutions that will take years to accomplish, according to Pena. They will be creating a berm or land barrier to protect areas from runoff. They plan to finish that by the summer. The knock at the door came just past 6:30 p.m. Friday. Two men, their masks pulled below their mouths, were standing outside Anna's home near Southwestern College."Can I help you?" she is heard asking in her Ring doorbell video.Anna's question gets an odd reply."We're looking for the queen of the castle," said the man at the door.Moments later, the man at the door makes his pitch."We're going door to door doing COVID testing. Have you been tested?" he asks.Anna, an ICU social worker, sensed something shady."I work at a hospital. No, no, no. Goodbye!" she exclaimed in the video.Just 10 minutes prior, the man who was standing back in the video, was at the home of neighbor Alice Segobia with a different offer."He asked about new metering that was coming. Asked if I was the homeowner. I lied to get him out of the house, said I didn't own my home," said Segobia.Segobia also abruptly said goodbye, so she never found out what he was after. (AP) - With CBD showing up everywhere, U.S. regulators announced Tuesday they are exploring ways the marijuana extract could be used legally in foods, dietary supplements and cosmetics.The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said it will hold a public hearing May 31 to gather more information on the science, manufacturing and sale of cannabis compounds like CBD.In the meantime, it issued more warning letters to companies for making unapproved health claims about CBD products.Products containing CBD are already in stores and sold online, so it's easy to believe there must be something special about the ingredient.
