SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- At least four people were stabbed in a brawl that erupted following a car show in Kearny Mesa early Thursday morning.San Diego police said the incident happened at a Chevron gas station in the 7700 block of Copley Park Place just after 12 a.m.According to police, about 50 people appeared at the gas station following a car show at a nearby park. During the gathering, a fight broke out, and a male pulled out a handgun and fired several gunshots.At the same time, another male used a knife to slash the tires of several vehicles and then tried to stab another male.When officers arrived at the gas station, those involved in the reported incident fled the area. Police discovered shell casings and blood at the scene.A short time later, police learned two people with stab wounds arrived at a Kaiser Permanente facility on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. Both victims were then transferred to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment.Police learned two more people with stab wounds showed up at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.According to police, the victims were between age 16-21. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Border agents have seen a huge drop in traffic along the San Diego Sector ports of entry since the Trump Administration restricted all non-essential travel at the U.S.-Mexico border last Friday.In a conference call with reporters on Monday morning, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed new details about its plan to handle the implications of the restrictions on the migrant population and the cross-border worker population. Recent tweets posted by CBP showed empty ports of entry. “We have seen about a 70% decrease on average at all our ports of entry,” said a CBP spokesperson during Monday’s conference call. That plunge in foot and vehicle traffic comes after the border restrictions took effect on Saturday.CBP said Monday that the restrictions don't apply to U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents or those traveling for medical, work or educational purposes.The agency reports that people’s work verification or documentation is currently on a sort of “honor system”. “At this point in time, we are not formally asking for verification or employment ID,” said a spokesperson on Monday.A spokesperson also reaffirmed that most apprehended migrants will be returned immediately, adding in part, “Individuals are no longer being held in detention areas.Quick interviews will be conducted in the field. Basic biographic scans run in the field as well. We made videos of them opening their gifts so we can share with family so we can feel like we were together.”Highbaugh works for the Chicano Federation and says through training with the San Diego Latino Health Coalition; she received pointers on how she should be spending the holiday this year.“With the pandemic, we wanted to be safe. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Border officials say they have received enough funding to replace 100 miles of border fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border.The Trump Administration will put forth about .6 billion through the 2018 Congressional appropriations.  The new border wall provides a comprehensive system of wall, lighting, and technologies, Acting Commissioner Ronald Vitiello said during a press conference Friday.In San Diego, a total of 28 miles of border barrier will be replaced. Fourteen miles of "dilapidated" border wall constructed with landing mats will be replaced with new steel bollard wall, according to Vitiello.
