Selling your home can be daunting and expensive. A new company says it can sell your home faster and save you thousands of dollars in commission using the latest technology. After 26 years Susan Beach and her husband decided to put their home on the market using a new real estate agency called REX. Susan says within hours of signing with REX, they already had potential buyers wanting to see their home.“We got a text that a showing appointment has been scheduled," Beach said. "They give you choices of what time, and you pick one and it was like 'wow.'" Just like local real estate agents, REX agents post your home on places like Zillow and Trulia. Co-Founder of REX Jack Ryan said the company uses specific technology to pinpoint the perfect buyer and market your home to them through targeted ads.“The difference is we can find the buyers because we make predictions about who the buyer might be for your home then drop ads on them,” said Ryan. They work with companies like Crate and Barrel and Best Buy to research what potential buyers are shopping for or are interested in and tweak their ads accordingly.“I know people think it’s too good to be true but that’s the miracle of technology today, which is you can target people exactly based upon their behaviors and people think is relevant ads,” said Ryan. Not only do they claim to sell your home faster, Ryan said REX can save thousands of dollars in commissions. “We do everything a real estate agent would do but we do it for 2 percent not 6 percent or 5, 6 percent which can mean ,000 or ,000 to a person,” said Ryan.Susan said what she saved will go toward their retirement.Rex isn’t the only company offering this type of service. Homie and Faira also promise to cut down what you pay in commissions, while offering support services to help you sell your home.  1905

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) – A group of San Marcos neighbors say that a homeowner is terrorizing the community with threats and harassment, among other complaints. Neighbors are now banding together to sue him with the hope that he'll pack up and leave. Team 10 investigative reporter Jennifer Kastner discovered that federal agents also seized explosives and ammunition from his house, that he wasn't supposed to have. Homeowner Mark Brody, though, denies all allegations of wrongdoing."You don't have to get along with all your neighbors. You don't have to be friends with all your neighbors, but you also don't have to terrorize them," says neighbor Heidi Hafley.Brody’s home sits behind a prominent security camera and high fences. “[It’s] a fortress,” says James Pyer, one of twelve neighbors who are suing Brody, accusing him in the lawsuit of threats, stalking, trespassing, and so on."This has been a nightmare," adds Hafley. She and Pyer got a restraining order against Brody.Court records show that Brody denies harming the neighborhood, but 10News dug into public records.According to a search warrant from last year, state investigators believed that Brody may have been harboring several weapons, even though he'd been banned from having firearms or ammo because of the restraining order. Agents reportedly found and seized 30 pounds of an explosive called tannerite that had to be turned over to a bomb squad. Additionally, they found four ammunition magazines and two rounds of caliber ammunition.“At one point they put everything in the middle of the street and told us to stand back,” says Hafley. This past May, he pleaded guilty to illegally having ammunition. He was given probation and community service.10News confirmed with the San Marcos Sheriff's Station that deputies have been called out to Brody's home more than 30 times since 2014. One Sheriff's report reveals accusations from neighbors that Brody had been shining a flashlight from his truck into Hafley's bedroom. In another report, neighbors claim he yelled that she was a "[expletive]".“I'm the main target now because I push back and I let him know [that] I'm not going to tolerate this,” she tells us.In fact, Brody tried to get a restraining order against Hafley, but failed. The City of San Marcos confirmed with 10News that there have been a number of code compliance violations issued to Brody.A cease and desist order from the City to Brody includes a photo of an unauthorized traffic control sign that Brody allegedly installed. Neighbors say that he spray painted the street, put in a speed bump and put up notices meant to insult his neighbors. Hafley adds that the signs would state, "'Watch for the cows crossing,’ which he's referencing myself and my neighbor. He would [write], ‘The old bat,” which is my nextdoor neighbor [and he would write], ‘The troll,’ which is me."Brody would not do an interview with 10News. In a court response, he wrote that he categorically denies the allegations and claims to have never acted [violently] towards the neighbors."We don't go out of our houses anymore. Children don't play on the street," says Hafley. She and the eleven others on the new lawsuit against him just want him to move out so they can move on. “I don't want any other neighborhood to go through this," she adds. Each neighbor is asking for at least ,000 in damages. The trial date is scheduled for July. 3414

SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A report of another car found burning in a driveway is raising questions about a possible fire starter targeting vehicles in Santee. On Shaggybark Drive, Michelle Genshaw and her husband were pulling out of their home two weeks ago -- just before 4:30 in the morning -- when they saw flames in their neighbor's driveway.  A 2007 Acura TL was on fire."It looked odd because there were flames coming out of the front and back of the car, like two separates fires," said Genshaw.Genshaw's husband banged on the door, waking the Arnold family.  Together, they put the fire out with a hose a few minutes later.  Catherine Arnold is thankful the fire didn't spread, but she tells us the car is a total loss."It's really upsetting.  It was my father's car and he passed away and it was the last thing belonging to my dad that I had," said Arnold.Sheriff's investigators were called out and concluded it was arson."We talked to police and they said they smelled gas," said Genshaw.A week and a half later, car alarms sounded along with a Mother's Day inferno on Pearlwood Road.  Neighbors discovered a newly purchased Ford Mustang convertible torched in a driveway.  Mason jars with a flammable liquid were found near the gas tank. A rag was discovered in the car.  The two incidents were about 2 miles apart.10news asked investigators about both arsons, and they said they're looking into a possible link, but have yet to connect them.  Meanwhile, residents in two neighborhoods are now on edge.    "It's really scary to think that could be going on in our neighborhood," said Genshaw. If you have information on the cases, call the Santee Sheriff's substation at 619-956-4000 or Crimestoppers at 888-580-8477.  1794
