POWAY, Calif., (KGTV)-- Fire crews battled a house fire in Poway Sunday afternoon after neighbors heard hissing sounds and an explosion. Poway and San Diego Fire departments responded to the 13,000 block of Silver Saddle Lane after getting a 9-1-1 call at around 1:15 pm. When crews arrived, they found the side of the home on fire. "The fire was just on the garage and the exterior of the garage. It appears it did not make it into the house," Poway Fire Battalion Chief Ray Fried said. Batt. Chief Fried said the methane levels were too high, above 0 ppm, which meant his fire crews needed to stand down until SDG&E cleared the gas leak. "We're not going inside at this time, because the gas readings are fairly high inside the house," Batt. Chief Fried said. No one was inside the home at the time of the explosion. (AP) — Police in Prescott Valley say a woman has been arrested in California in a custodial interference case.They say 36-year-old Erica Chantle Lunsford of Prescott Valley was being held on suspicion of kidnapping and unlawful use of a means of transportation.She remains in custody in California pending extradition to Arizona. Police say they were notified of a possible kidnapping involving a child around 1 p.m. Saturday.They say the victim reported her daughter had taken her vehicle without permission along with the two children, ages 5 and 10. (KGTV) - Poway synagogue shooting suspect John Earnest should not have been able to buy the gun used in the April attack, according to state law.California Fish and Wildlife officials confirmed to 10News that the hunting license that Earnest, 19, used to get around the state's age limit of 21 was invalid at the time of purchase.Earnest picked up the AR-15 style weapon used in the attack from San Diego Guns on April 26, a day before he attacked worshipers at the Chabad of Poway, killing congregant Lori Kaye and injuring three others. Search warrants show that Earnest did have a hunting license but it was not valid until July 1, 2019. On Tuesday, an employee at San Diego Guns declined an interview but said "We did everything properly.
