CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) – A woman was treated for smoke inhalation Wednesday night after a boat caught fire near Coronado. According to Harbor Police, authorities received a call about the fire just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night near Zu?iga Point.When crews arrived on scene, no flames were visible, however, a woman aboard the boat at the time of the fire was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. Harbor Police say the fire is being investigated to see whether or not it was caused by an electrical issue. 520

Lowe's Tool Rental helps customers save on the cost of owning, maintaining, and storing the tools they need," said Fred Stokes, senior vice president of Pro Sales and Services for Lowe's in a news release. "As the new home for Pros, offering tool rental is just another way we are committed to keeping them working. Whether a Pro's tool fails on the job, needs a repair or they're looking to try something new, tool rental will allow them to get back to the job site faster, saving them time and money."The company said that each store's Tool Rental department will be about 4,000 square feet that would be a fully equipped mechanic shop to service tools, space for on-site cleaning and product demo areas.To rent, consumers will select the device they need, confirm the rental date, and reserve it online.The tools available for rent will be drain cleaning, restoration, sanitation, and concrete tools with brands such as Husqvarna, Bosch, and Metabo HPT.The company has 2,200 home improvement and hardware stores in the U.S. and Canada. 1446

CORONADO (KGTV) - An Arizona man is recovering from a bacterial infection he says he got from swimming in the ocean off the coast of San Diego.Travis Moncur had part of his forearm removed last week after doctors discovered he had gram positive cocci.The Arizona based event coordinator says he went swimming Sunday near the Hotel Del Coronado and by Wednesday he was in an emergency room.RELATED: Tijuana steps up efforts to keep sewage out of U.S.“For the first 24 hours they didn’t know what it was because it was acting like a bug bite,” said Moncur.Travis says he had a fever, was nauseous and the area where he had a small cut was painfully sensitive to the touch.“It was pretty dire,” said Moncur, “they said had I not gotten on top of it right away it would have got into my blood system and I could have gotten an infection in my brain.”Moncur says doctors told him the variety of coliform bacterial infection they believe he is consistent with dirty water.RELATED: Imperial Beach businesses hurt by sewage & runoff related closuresThe San Diego County Health Department says there no advisories for any of the areas where Moncur was swimming and they recommend covering any cut before going in the water.Moncur’s doctor will get back results to help them potentially determine the source, but he is still worried about the possibility of others getting what he has. “We were playing on the beach with people who had children” said Moncur, “I was able to catch it because I went to the ER right away.” 1528

Cyntoia Brown was just 16 years old when she shot and killed a man whom she said had bought her for sex. Now, 14 years later, she could have a shot at getting out of prison.  Brown was convicted of murder after she shot and killed 43-year old realtor Johnny Allen in 2004. Her lawyers said she was a victim of sex trafficking.Now 30, Brown has a clemency hearing at 10 a.m. local time Wednesday. A state parole board will listen to her case and make a recommendation about whether to grant her clemency. The story sparked national outrage last year after several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Rihanna, posted Brown's story on Twitter and Instagram. Her attorneys said Brown had been forced into prostitution and that had Allen paid her for sex. 784

Counterfeit items are being sold by third-party vendors on the top ecommerce sites, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office. The GAO released a study Tuesday showing that even top online merchants such as Amazon and Walmart are subject to having counterfeit items posted on their sites. In some cases, the counterfeits can be harmful, the GAO reported.  The GAO purchased 47 items — a mixture of shoes, travel mugs, cosmetics and phone chargers. The items were bought from third-party sellers on Walmart, eBay, Amazon, Sears Marketplace and Newegg. Of the 47 items, 20 were counterfeit, including all 13 of the Urban Decay cosmetics purchased. "From travel mugs to cosmetics, counterfeit goods harm the U.S. economy and can pose a threat to consumers," the GAO reported.  829
