MACAO, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- A series of activities and events were held here on Thursday to celebrate Macao's 19th anniversary of returning to the motherland and the establishment of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
Wang Zhimin, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), made the remarks while addressing more than 4,000 attendees at the liaison office's Chinese New Year reception held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
In his congratulatory message, Xi said China-U.S. relations have experienced ups and downs and made historic progress over the past 40 years, bringing huge benefits to the two peoples and contributing greatly to world peace, stability and prosperity.
"Cambodia will work with China to consolidate traditional friendship, further deepen cooperation in infrastructure, production capacity, economy and trade, agriculture, and improving people's livelihoods, expand people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to advance great development of Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership."
Senior officials Wang Yang and Han Zheng attended the gathering.
