SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County is letting voters know that they have options when it comes to dropping off their mail ballots.The county says voters can send in their mail ballots, drop them off at the Registrar of Voters in Kearny Mesa or drop them off at any of the 41 additional sites throughout the county.According to the county, the faster the ballots are returned, the quicker they can be prepared for counting on election night.The 41 drop-off locations are not early voting locations, but for mail ballots only, the county says.Click on the map below for a full list of drop-off location: “More than 1 million San Diego County voters use mail ballots, and that number continues to rise,” said Registrar Michael Vu. “The early drop-off sites are convenient for the voter, they help with the timely return of mail ballots and decrease the high volume of voters dropping off mail ballots at polling places on Election Day.”   960

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are looking for the husband of a City Heights woman found dead by her sister Monday morning.Police say 45-year-old Abdiaziz Kerow is a person of interest and is sought for questioning by detectives, but has yet to be located. Kerow's wife, 36-year-old Muna Salad Kuri, was found dead in her apartment in the 4000 block of Van Dyke Ave., police say.Family members say they last heard from Kuri on Saturday.RELATED: Woman finds sister dead in City Heights homeWhen Kuri's sister came to the apartment to check on her Monday, there was no answer and the landlord unlock the door. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County reported a record new 1,802 coronavirus cases on Friday, bringing the region's total to 78,159 cases thus far.The new cases resulted in an 8% positive rate out of 21,671 reported tests for the county's daily tally. No new deaths were reported on Friday, as the death toll sits at 996.The new case totals come as public and federal health officials urge the public to keep gatherings limited and small this Thanksgiving and not to travel.Hospitalizations in the county remained at 580 on Friday, while ICU cases rose slightly from 166 to 173 — both of which have nearly doubled since a month earlier, according to the county's data.There were 82 community outbreaks in San Diego County as of Friday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police have released video footage of an officer-involved shooting involving a man who was arrested and reportedly stole a gun out of an officer's backpack Sunday.The footage includes bodycam video from officers inside the police station's sally port, as well as surveillance footage of the parking area.Police say a 25-year-old Hispanic man, later identified as Keith Bergman, was arrested shortly after 6:20 p.m. after an incident at a downtown San Diego hotel on Sunday. A hotel security guard reported the man was “acting strange” and threatening others.Bergman was evaluated for being under the influence and arrested, according to SDPD. Police say they found methamphetamine and five credit cards that didn't belong to him in his pockets.See the video in the player above (If the video doesn't appear below, click here)Officers brought Bergman to SDPD headquarters. Just after 8 p.m., police said the suspect somehow freed one hand from his handcuffs while inside the patrol SUV, and then broke a divider that separates the prisoner seat area from the cargo area.Police said Bergman found an officer’s backpack that contained a backup handgun. When officers returned to check on the suspect, he was still in the vehicle but armed with a gun, according to SDPD.Officers drew their weapons and gave Bergman verbal commands to drop the weapon, but he refused and fired at least one round from the gun, police said.The officers felt threatened, police said, and at least one round was fired at Bergman, hitting him in the torso.Bergman reached out of the vehicle's window and opened the door to exit while he was still armed, police said, adding that he tried to open the rear cargo compartment of the SUV and the driver's door, refusing orders to stop in the process.RELATED: San Diego Police: Suspect shot by officers after finding officer's gun in patrol SUVPolice eventually released a service dog to subdue Bergman, and police moved in to arrest him.Officers provided first aid at the scene and Bergman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to SDPD.San Diego Police also identified the three officers involved in the shooting as Paul Yi, a six-year veteran of the department, Michael Rodriguez, who has been with the department for 10 months, and Timothy Arreola, an eight-year veteran of the department. After the department's Homicide Unit completes its investigation, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office will look at the incident to determine if the officers bear any criminal liability for their actions. The Internal Affairs Unit will also conduct an investigation, and the Shooting Review Board will evaluate the tactics used by the officers. The Community Review Board on Police Practices will conduct a review of the incident and provide any appropriate recommendations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric is warning more than 88,000 customers of a possible multi-day power shutoff due to Santa Ana Winds.According to the company, the public safety power shutoff could happen as early as Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
