BAMAKO, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Three Chinese citizens were killed in a hostage-taking situation at a hotel in Mali's capital Bamako, the Chinese Embassy confirmed to Xinhua on Friday.
They also decided to enhance exchanges and cooperation among local governments, and encourage sister-city exchanges in the region.
David Gosset, founder of the Euro-China Forum, said China "is in a unique situation" in the climate negotiations and is striving to push for a success of the conference.
"China will continue to participate in UN peacekeeping missions in Africa and support African countries' capacity building in areas such as defense, counter-terrorism, riot prevention, customs and immigration control," he said.
China has vowed to lift all of its poor out of poverty by 2020, when its next five-year-plan is completed.
