(KGTV) - Police are trying to determine if the gun in the officer-involved shooting was registered to the shooter.Around 1:30 Wednesday, police were called to a mobile home park in San Ysidro after getting reports of a man carrying a large gun. When they arrived, they ordered the man on the ground, and when he didn’t get down or put his gun down, they shot him several times.RELATED: San Diego Police shoot man in San Ysidro RV park10News was back on the scene today where neighbors told stories of what happened.One woman said she saw the man with the gun on his shoulder. She said he was saying he had already shot his woman. No women were injured in the incident.Before police killed him, he shot an RV with five children inside leaving bullet holes on the front. Neighbors say luckily no one was killed. One neighbor reported getting under her table during the gunfire. The name of the man police shot and killed hasn’t been released. 10News talked to his sons today. One of them said they didn’t want to talk about their dad, but that their mom was doing okay and they are not mad at police for shooting their father. SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - After seven years of planning and more than a year of construction, Mast Park in Santee is almost ready to reopen.The new park features all modern technology and brand new amenities, but planners wanted to make sure it kept its original feel of being surrounded by nature."If you think of Santee's parks along the river as a string of pearls, this one was the oldest and needed some polishing," says Bill Maertz, the City of Santee's Director of Community Services."We've kept the feel of the natural park," he adds. "So we have a brand new park here, but we've got 100-year-old trees here."The park's new features include three picnic shelters, a larger parking lot with electric car charging stations, three larger dog parks, a nature discovery play area, a forest-themed playground, a new basketball court, and an enhanced disc golf course.There are also more than 100 new trees planted throughout the 80-acre park, as well as native and drought-resistant landscaping."A portion of the park is part of the San Diego River Trail. So we wanted to keep that natural experience along the river," says Maertz.Multiple public meetings also showed that the community wanted to help kids build a connection to nature through the park."Children have a nature deficit disorder, there's too much time with screens, TVs and stuff," says Maertz. "So, we're trying to get them reconnected back to nature."The park will also have an active storm-water drainage system that runs through it like a river. Water runoff from nearby apartment complexes and businesses will filter through the park, with natural elements helping to clean it and block debris and trash from entering the San Diego River. The city built 12 bridges in the park to let people walk over the runoff areas like they're walking through a forest."The only reason we have 12 bridges is that we didn't have room for 13," jokes Maertz.The park will also have new bathrooms and a concession stand. Gina Browning of the SPCA serving Erie County, New York said the emotional benefits in adopting a pup are immense, especially because you're giving them a second chance at life. Also, the cost is much cheaper, and the dog will be spayed and neutered by the time it comes home with you.Since the SPCA serving Erie County moved to its new location on Harlem Road in West Seneca, Browning said traffic coming in is better than ever. Schafer said while she doesn't have any dogs available for sale right now, she has a waiting list 20 people long. 1223

(CNS) - Kobe Bryant's widow, Vanessa, responded Thursday to a lawsuit filed against her by her mother demanding financial support and claiming the late Laker legend had vowed to take care of her financially for life.In a statement posted online, Vanessa Bryant accused her mother -- Sofia Urbieta Laine -- accused her mother of trying to "extort a financial windfall from our family." Bryant said she and her husband long supported her, allowing her to live in their properties free of charge."She was a grandmother who was supported by me and her son-in-law at my request," Bryant said. "She now wants to back charge me per hour for supposedly working 12 hours a day for 18 years for watching her grandchildren. In reality, she only occasionally babysat my older girls when they were toddlers."Bryant said she has tried to make peace with her mother to no avail."Earlier this year, I was looking for a new home for her and, a week later, she went on television and gave an interview disparaging our family and making false accusations while living rent-free in a gated apartment complex in Newport Coast," she said. "Even after that betrayal, I was willing to provide my mother with monthly support for the rest of her life and that wasn't good enough. She, instead, contacted me through intermediaries -- contrary to what she claims, my phone number hasn't changed -- and demanded million, a house and a Mercedes SUV."Bryant said she refused, causing her mother to make "false and absurd claims" while demanding "more money than my husband and I ever spent to provide for her while he was alive.""She has no regard for how this is affecting my children and me," Bryant said. (AP) — Southern California authorities say 18 pounds (8 kilograms) of fentanyl have been seized in Orange County — enough of the synthetic opioid to create four million lethal doses.The Orange County Register reports the seizure last week yielded almost half the amount of fentanyl seized by authorities in the county during all of 2018 — a sign the drug is quickly growing into a substantial public threat.Sheriff's officials say investigators served a search warrant and arrested 60-year-old Rudolph Garcia on multiple drug charges. It wasn't known if Garcia has an attorney.Investigators also seized a semi-automatic handgun, heroin, methamphetamine, and ,000 in cash.According to the California Department of Public Health, deaths in Orange County attributed to fentanyl have risen from 14 five years ago to 93 in 2018. 852
