BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- China-U.S. ties, one of the world's most important bilateral relationships, are faced with severe challenges, which came at an ill-timed moment in a world battered by a ferocious pandemic and its economic fallout.
"This has led the American people into grave human rights disasters," it read.
Speaking at the same occasion, UNDP Resident Representative Georges van Montfort expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for supporting UNDP's resources mobilization efforts, saying that "I am particularly pleased, not only that we can help assist vulnerable communities in their recovery efforts, but also as this is our first engagement with the People's Republic of China in Zimbabwe and I thank the Ambassador for his confidence in the UNDP and this contribution to Zimbabwe.
Showing his support to the Chinese stand, the Cuban diplomat said that obviously there is a politicization and manipulation of the issue of human rights, to hide the true interest of some Western powers.
"In the past weeks and months, financial departments and institutions have taken effective moves to tackle the economic impact of the coronavirus. Real interest rates have come down, and aggregate financing is expanding," Li said. "Interest concessions by financial institutions are a key measure in supporting the real economy, especially smaller firms, and keeping economic fundamentals stable."
