SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Mission Valley's Gordon Biersch restaurant may be closing, but the brewery location will live on under a new local eatery.Puesto will take over the location of the well-known restaurant after it closes in July, according to the company. The Mission Center Road spot will be the Mexican restaurant's third location.Gordon Biersch is set to leave Mission Valley on July 16, though no reason was immediately given for the closure, according to paperwork filed by the company. The online festival will feature dance performances, a cultural storytime, and an arts and crafts workshop:The festival will also include a tour of the Rancho Guajome Adobe, an authentic 1850s adobe hacienda located in Vista that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The holiday originated thousands of years ago in Mesoamerica (Mexico and northern Central America). Dia de los Muertos is not a somber holiday. Rather than mourning, ancient Aztecs, Mayans, and Toltec celebrated and honored the dead by providing food, water, and tools to aid their journey into the afterlife. Southwest Airlines opened its flight schedule Wednesday for once-daily service out of San Diego. The flights travel to Kahului, Maui, starting Apr. 14, 2020. Flights to Honolulu begin Apr. 20, 2020, Southwest reports. Fares as low as 9 each way will be available on both routes for travel between Apr. 14 and June 4, 2020, according to the airline.
