Judge Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court confirmation hearing was beset by technical issues on Wednesday afternoon, as the Senate Judiciary Committee was forced to take two recesses when microphones in the room went dead.The issues began at 2 p.m. ET, about five hours into day two of questioning. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Connecticut, was in the process of beginning his 20 minute period of questioning went microphones stopped working.The committee went into recess for about half an hour as Capitol maintenance workers attempted to fix the issue. Upon returning, Blumenthal was able to get through most of his questioning session before microphones in the room cut out again.The committee was forced to take another 15-minute recess to address the technical issue.It's currently unclear as to what caused the issue. 827

(KGTV) -- A Rock Star of Science came to San Diego to speak to medical students at UC San Diego about the latest research in Alzheimer’s.While here, Dr. Rudolph Tanzi, a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, and Vice-Chair of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital met up with 10News Anchor Kimberly Hunt.Dr. Tanzi discussed his latest research, drugs in trial that may be able to wipe out the Alzheimer's decades before symptoms, and testing to target the inflammation associated with memory loss.Tanzi also spoke to Hunt about his other passion. His love of music.This passion has taken him down an unlikely path. One that has him performing live with famed guitarist Joe Perry, and playing keyboards on the last Aerosmith album.“If you can find creative success in music, that can be instant, then that will feed longer term successes in science that might take 10 years. It allows you to stick with it," Tanzi said. "Scientific success takes years, in music you can have success in a solo in a few minutes. Creative success, breeds creative success…so one feeds the other.” Tanzi also co-wrote an Alzheimer’s anthem with The Voice and Phantom star Chris Mann. Juliana Hart said it's something she's never seen before and thought it was "kind of comical" to witness Disney cast members remove a snake from the entrance to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. (AP) — All it took for one fugitive in Illinois to turn himself in was a little photo manipulation.WBBM-TV in Chicago reports that the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department posts notices about fugitives on its Facebook page each Wednesday.This week, the department posted a picture of Brandon W. Conti. The 25-year-old was wanted for failure to appear on a drunken-driving charge.Conti commented on the post and asked, "Where's my costume?"Sheriff's office staff then edited the photo to add a sailor suit and a hat that read, "Ahoy."An officer wrote, "We held up our end of the bargain."Conti replied with laughing emojis, noting he would turn himself in "before noon" and asked that police "have the paperwork done and ready."
