Multiple reports of illnesses have prompted a Chipotle location near Columbus, Ohio to close on Monday, both Reuters and the Columbus Dispatch reported. The Columbus Dispatch reported that a dozen customers claimed to have gotten sick after eating at the location over the weekend. The Dispatch reported that the location was last inspected on Thursday by the health department, and had two critical violations - one was for beans that were not held at a high enough temperature, and the other was for cut lettuce that was not properly cooled after preparation. The Dispatch said that these violations were corrected on the same day. “We acted quickly and closed this single restaurant out of an abundance of caution and we are working with the local health officials to reopen this restaurant as soon as possible,” a Chipotle spokeswoman said in a statement to Reuters.The Dispatch reported this location should reopen on Tuesday. In 2015, hundreds of customers were sickened across the country after eating at Chipotle. The wave of illnesses likely contributed to a decrease in business, prompting the company to wage a public campaign on food safety.  1207

(KGTV) - The city of National City set a record in the 2019 Fiscal Year for the amount of grant money they received to pay for road upgrade projects.According to information provided to 10News, National City got around million for what they call "Active Transportation" projects."If we don't get these grants, we're basically just doing roadway maintenance for the next year," says City Engineer Steve Manganiello.The grants will pay for a long list of projects focused on improving bike lanes and pedestrian walkways throughout National City. This comes as cities all across San Diego work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by emphasizing alternative forms of transporation over driving."We need to give people that don't have acces to vehicles a safe network to bike, to walk and to use transit," says Manganiello. "I think we're well on our way."The city won 14 competitive grants in fiscal year 2018-19, which ends July 1. City Manager Brad Raulston says a unique combination of cooperation, need and preparation made it happen."We're the right size in terms of being small enough that we collaborate well," says Raulston. "We all work closely together. More than two dozen children in Virginia who had been reported missing are now recovered.The U.S. Marshals released a statement Monday morning stating their five-day effort called “Operation Find Our Children” resulted in the recovery of 27 children who had been previously missing in Virginia. They also located an additional six children who had been reported missing but were discovered with their legal guardians.More than 60 law enforcement officers from federal agencies, state and local regions participated in the effort. They were joined by 50 employees from social services, a team of medical professionals and representatives from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.Details about the children who were recovered, including when they were reported missing and where they were found, were not immediately available.This recovery effort is the latest from the U.S. Marshals. In September, a similar group of federal, state and local officers recovered 35 previously reported missing children in Ohio. And in Indiana, 8 kids were recovered in a similar missing kid law enforcement effort. 1123

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A veteran wounded in the line of duty, who was told he would never run again, is gearing up to run a marathon in Nashville.Randy Woodward, of Smyrna, Tennessee is in the process of running 10 marathons in five weeks.He will complete each 26.2-mile run while carrying an 8-foot-by-5-foot American flag.“It’s been really great,” said Woodward.  “It will be something to look back on and say you did it. You finished it.”Woodward has already completed marathons in Kansas City, Missouri; Des Moines, Iowa; Lexington, Virginia; Arlington, Virginia; Savannah, Georgia and Bowling Green, Ohio. He has plans to run in future events in Louisville, Kentucky; Fort Benning, Georgia and another in Nashville.Woodward was on his second tour in Iraq when he was hit by a roadside bomb. He spent nine months in hospitals recovering.  At the time, doctors told him he would never run again.“Fortunately, I have all my limbs,” said Woodward.  “I’m blessed and thankful for that.”Woodward was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery.Having run a marathon before his injury, Woodward was determined to run again. After recovering, he set his sights on the bold decision to run back-to-back marathons over the course of consecutive weeks.At each stop, Woodward’s efforts and his American flag have been getting a lot of attention.“I got just an outpouring of support from people,” said Woodward.  “It’s been really great.”Woodward said the reason he is running is to spread patriotism, and he hopes his efforts inspire others.“There is just so much divide in this country, and there is so much hate,” Woodward said.   1709
