A Pennsylvania woman is mourning the loss of her 12-year-old after claiming that the dog was mauled last week by another dog during a grooming appointment at a PetSmart, WNEP-TV reported. Betty Miller of Scranton told WNEP that after dropping off her dog named Bichon Brewster at PetSmart's grooming salon, she got a call from a veterinarian, who delivered the awful news. Brewster was killed after getting attacked by another dog.After the mauling, Brewster was taken to the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center, but was dead on arrival. The veterinarians told WNEP that it attempted resuscitation, but failed. Now, Miller is wanting answers as to why this happened. "We called corporate," Miller told WNEP. A non-profit organization announced its come up with a way to feed voters at several polling places across the nation for free on Election Day.World Central Kitchen kicked off their initiative last week with the announcement of its #ChefsforthePolls.They say people often cast their vote before work, during their lunch break, or after work, and those are the same time's people typically grab something to eat.And with long lines at polling stations, that could be the difference between voting and not voting, so they want to help make it a convenient experience for voters."WCK and our partners are activating #ChefsForThePolls to serve nourishing meals on early voting days and Election Day," the organization said on its website. "We'll be stationed by polling locations around the country, targeting those with historically long lines, predicted massive turnouts, or limited facilities, sharing meals with anyone – no questions asked. A memorial outside a Pittsburgh synagogue continues to grow, after the deadliest attack against Jews in U.S. history.The rabbi of the Pittsburgh synagogue opens up Monday about the moments the gunman started shooting.Rabbi Jeffrey Myers tried to save members of his Tree of Life congregation, when the gunman opened fire.“At that time, I instructed my congregants to drop to the floor, do not utter a sound, and don't move,” Rabbi Myers recalls. “Our pews are thick hulled oak, and I thought perhaps there's some protection there.”The rabbi says he helped a group of people in the front of congregation escape, but he says he felt helpless for those trapped in the back.“I could hear the gunfire getting louder,” he says. “It was no longer safe for me to be there, and I had to leave them. One of the eight was shot and she's survived her wounds. The other seven of my congregants were gunned down in my sanctuary. There was nothing I could do.”The gunman, identified as Robert Bowers, murdered 11 people. A student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School sent a tweet in response to conservative commentator Tomi Lahren, which went viral on Thursday. Student Carly Novell sent the tweet at 8 a.m. on Thursday, roughly 18 hours after 17  people were killed in the Parkland, Florida high school. "I was hiding in a closet for 2 hours," Novell wrote ."It was about guns. You weren't there, you don't know how it felt. Guns give these disgusting people the ability to kill other human beings.
