UPDATE: 9:15 P.M.A man has been taken into custody after an hours-long standoff with officers at a Hillcrest rehabilitation center.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police Department officers are surrounding a Hillcrest neighborhood Saturday working to peacefully end a standoff with a person believed to be armed.According to SDPD's official Twitter page, the incident started around 4 p.m. after receiving reports about a man with a gun in the 4000 block of Sixth Avenue, east of Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego.Police told 10News that around 4 p.m., an employee of the Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center found a homeless man showering in a facility bathroom-laundry room.The man barricaded himself in the bathroom and has refused to speak with police. He has also vandalized the room using a fire extinguisher.The room is isolated away from the rest of the rehabilitation center, so patients there have not been evacuated but are being told to shelter in place.Police have called on the department's Emergency Negotiating Team and a SWAT team to assist with the incident. 1087

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, is set to join the faculty of Georgetown Law next month.Emhoff will serve as a Distinguished Visitor from Practice and teach a two-credit course in the spring semester called “Entertainment Law Disputes." Two people have died in a partial building collapse at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in southeast Baltimore, officials said Saturday.Baltimore Fire Department spokesman Chief Roman Clark said thermal imaging equipment was being used to determine if anyone else may be trapped inside. U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore published an open letter to Sean Hannity on Wednesday night pushing back against allegations of sexual abuse that have placed his campaign at the center of a national firestorm and prompted prominent members of the Republican Party to call on Moore to withdraw from the race.In the letter, which came one night after Hannity said he would give Moore 24 hours to explain inconsistencies in how he has addressed the allegations before calling on him to step aside in the race, Moore suggested he was the victim of a political hit job."I am suffering the same treatment other Republicans have had to endure," Moore wrote Hannity.Moore faces accusations from multiple women that he pursued sexual relationships with them -- and in two cases engaged in sexual assault -- while they were between 14 and 18 years old and he was in his mid-30s.Moore denied dating underage girls, but only specifically addressed allegations from two of the women.
