RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Video shows the moment shots were fired during a shootout in Riverside that killed one CHP officer and left two more hospitalized. The video appears to be filmed by a woman pulled over onto the side of the road near the 215 freeway, where the shooting took place. Three officers were shot and one died as a result of the shooting. The suspect was also killed in the shootout. It elevated a 25-year-old progressive Democrat who already has years of legislative experience to the state Assembly. He plans to keep living with his mom in San Jose for the time being and had to take a part-time gig economy delivery job to make ends meet during his campaign. Robert Trump, President Donald Trump’s younger brother, has died, the White House confirmed late Saturday. The cause of his death was not immediately known.President Trump visited his brother at a New York City hospital on Friday, one day before his brother’s passing.President Trump issued a brief statement following his brother’s passing:“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight. SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — While California is seeing a slowdown in the spread of the coronavirus and counties are starting to fall off a state monitoring list for infections, Gov. Gavin Newsom says rules are not yet ready for businesses in those areas to reopen. Santa Cruz, San Diego and Placer counties recently came off the list and Newsom said Wednesday San Francisco will likely soon follow. He says counties can expect more details next week on what will be required for businesses like indoor gyms and salons to reopen in areas that fall off the monitoring list. SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California plans to release another 3,100 inmates and in total will release more than 10,000 state inmates early in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In all, California's efforts could free nearly 10% of prisoners as Gov. Gavin Newsom responds to intensifying pressure from advocates, lawmakers and federal judges. His latest effort will soon free about 3,100 inmates by granting most a one-time three-month credit. It follows other measures that are expected to quickly lead to the release of about 7,000 inmates six months before they normally would have been paroled. The 12-week credit applies to every inmate except those who are on death row, serving life-without-parole, or who have a serious recent rules violation. 761
