(KGTV) - A Valley Center woman and her son are dead in an apparent drunk-driving crash in Austin, Texas that injured the woman’s husband and daughter.KVUE reported Guy Brasted, 41, was driving drunk and crossed the median of U.S. 183 on Saturday afternoon. Brasted’s Jeep struck a Fiat sedan, police said.Nancy Latulippe and her 14-year-old son Jackson died on impact. Latulippe’s husband Scott is in critical condition, relatives said. The couple’s daughter Keira was not seriously injured, according to relatives.The family issued a statement which said they "thank the community for their prayers and support. The family is surrounding Kiera with support. We continue to pray for Scotty's recovery. Nancy and Jackson are in our thoughts and prayers as we move forward. Scotty continues to fight. (CNN) -- The White House and Capitol Hill is considering a phone app connected to the National Instant Criminal Background Checks (NICS) as one of the options in their discussions for plans to reduce gun violence, according to a Senate source and a person familiar with the talks.The proposed app would be used for background checks using private sales, and not for purchases involving commercial dealers, one of the sources told CNN. The Washington Post first reported on the app.White House aides have spent the last month meeting with congressional staffers and devising a package of legislative measures in the wake of recent mass shootings. (KGTV) — A woman was charged with lying to federal agents after she was able to sneak past security at Mar-a-Lago with a thumb drive containing "malicious malware" last weekend, according to a Florida criminal complaint.Yujing Zhang, 32, lied to Secret Service agents and made it deep in President Trump's Florida property before it was discovered that she was not on the property's access list, according to ABC News.She was caught with two Taiwanese passports, four cellphones, and a thumb drive containing the malicious malware, the complaint says.Zhang reportedly told agents she was asked by a Chinese friend to try and discuss foreign policy with a Trump family member, ABC News reported. The president was not at the club during the incident.Zhang has also been charged with entering restricted grounds.An investigation by the Secret Service is ongoing.ABC News contributed to this report. 905
