The sound of plastic bins flying around on a conveyor belt is music to Javier Herran's ears. “I refer to it as a symphony of chaos,” Herran says.The well-oiled machine does all the grocery shopping for you. “It’s basically a giant vending machine,” Herran describes. Except this vending machine can hold over 100,000 items for Sedano's supermarkets’ new online ordering platform. “This is the first automated micro-fulfillment center in the world,” explains Curt Avalon with Takeoff Technology, the company that developed the robotic system. Instead of an employee walking through a store to manually gather the items in an online order, the machine does all the work. It travels through a system of conveyors and elevators, bringing the shelves to the employees. "So we can pick an item in about three seconds, where if you're shopping on the sales floor, its 60 to 90 seconds an item,” Avalon says. That efficiency is what sold Herran, who is Sedano's marketing director. "We can get an order done in 10 minutes or less versus an hour or hour and a half shopping on the sales floor," Avalon says. The 5-year-old boy who was tossed off a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America in Minnesota in April is now back at home.An update on the family-run GoFundMe account says the boy -- who fell from nearly 40 feet -- completed his inpatient rehabilitation and will now enter "the next phase of recovery.""(This) includes continued outpatient rehabilitation for multiple injuries and adjusting to life back at home and school," the update read.The boy, who has not been publicly identified, was outside a café with his mother when 24-year-old Emmanuel Aranda came close to them, picked up the child and threw him over the railing.Aranda told police he had come to the mall a day earlier intending to kill an adult, but that did not "work out," according to the criminal complaint. He returned a day later and chose the child.Aranda pleaded guilty in May to attempted premediated first-degree murder and was sentenced to 19 years in prison.The young boy was in critical condition after the April 12 incident and spent months in intensive care before moving to rehab."Thank you to all who prayed for us and loved us during the past 4 1/2 months," his family wrote this week. The CEO of Wawa is apologizing after the convenience store chain became a center of a massive data breach.According to an open letter from Wawa CEO Chris Gheysens, the company discovered malware on Wawa's payment processing servers between December 10 and 12 of 2019. Gheysens said in the letter that the same malware affected customer payment card information used "at potentially all Wawa locations beginning March 4, 2019 and until it was contained."The malware accessed customers' payment card information, including credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates and cardholder names at potentially inside the store and at the self-serve pumps, according to Wawa."At this time, we believe this malware no longer poses a risk to Wawa customers using payment cards at Wawa, and this malware never posed a risk to our ATM cash machines," Gheysens said in the letter.Wawa said although the dates may vary and some Wawa locations may not have been affected at all, the malware was present on most store systems by mid April of 2019.
