BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhua) -- China would like to join with Myanmar to promote comprehensive, stable and lasting relations, Vice President Xi Jinping said Tuesday.     During talks with Myanmar State Peace and Development Council Vice-Chairman Maung Aye, Xi said China valued good-neighborly relations with Myanmar.     He said Myanmar was among the first group of countries that forged diplomatic ties with the People's Republic of China, and Sino-Myanmar relations had maintained good momentum. He particularly mentioned that China sent medical teams after Myanmar was hit by a cyclone last year.     He reaffirmed Myanmar would support China's stance on the Taiwan and Tibet issues.     Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Maung Aye earlier Tuesday.     Hailing the 60-year diplomatic relationship, Wen said the two nations enjoyed traditional friendship and broad common interests.     Maung Aye said his government valued the relationship with China.     Maung Aye came to China on an official visit scheduled for June15 to 20 at Xi's invitation.

BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has called for stepped-up recycling to achieve better use of resources.     Li made the comments during a visit to pilot enterprises Thursday. He also attended a forum on the development of recycling economy.     Li emphasized the importance of recycling and urged companies to cultivate new areas of economic growth, as the global financial crisis still weighed on the real economy. Promoting recycling would not only improve the use of resources and protect the environment, it would also help companies become more profitable, he said.     Enterprises should employ advanced technology and equipment and improve their management to achieve the most efficient use of resources with the lowest level of pollution and wastes, he said.     Li stressed technological progress and innovation, especially in key industries and major enterprises, and called for increased investment to support the development of recycling.     From late April to August, about 100 academicians, experts and work staff would be sent to companies and grassroots units nationwide to do research and provide guidance on recycling.

HELSINKI, June 25 (Xinhua) -- China and Finland on Thursday agreed to push for closer economic cooperation to tackle the ongoing global financial crisis.     Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang unveiled broad measures to work together with Finland to fight the global financial crisis after meeting with Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen. Li and Vanhanen joined a signing ceremony of several government and business agreements between the two sides, under which Li said China would purchase Finland's advanced environment-friendly technologies.     China would also send a large group of entrepreneurs to Finland within two weeks to make major purchases of Finnish goods, according to Li.
