Nearly 7 in 10 Americans are motivated to improve their health during the pandemic, according to a new poll.Researchers with MDVIP and Ipsos conducted the survey including Americans age 35 and older on July 9 and released their findings this week.Some of the results confirm what many of us are feeling: half of respondents said they feel more stressed, anxious and depressed than before the pandemic, and one in three said they have developed an unhealthy habit, such as overeating, excessive drinking or not exercising.It seems the global pandemic is also spurring some positive trends, as Americans reexamine their health and habits.The data found that 69 percent of participants said the pandemic had motivated them to be healthier. More than a million chainsaws from Harbor Freight Tools are being recalled because the power switch can malfunction causing a serious injury hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, even after the power switch is moved to the "off" position the chainsaws can continue to operate.Harbor Freight Tools has received 15 reports of chainsaws continuing to operate after being turned, resulting in three laceration injuries — including one serious injury to the arm requiring stitches.The recall includes two models of 14-inch chainsaws sold under three different brand names: 623

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Sarah Fuller has become the first woman to score in a Power Five conference football game by kicking an extra point. The goalkeeper for Vanderbilt’s Southeastern Conference women’s soccer champs got her chance on the Commodores' third drive of the game. Fuller, one of three kickers on the depth chart, came out for the extra point that tied the game at 7 late in the first quarter. She put the ball through the uprights and celebrated by pulling her first in before slapping high-fives with teammates with her family celebrating in the stands. An official gave her the ball. Two weeks ago, she became the first woman to appear in a Power 5 football game in a game against Missouri with a kickoff. There have been two previous female Division I college football players, Katie Hnida for New Mexico and April Goss for Kent State.Fuller is coming off the college soccer season, playing in nine games for Vanderbilt. Last month, Fuller helped Vandy’s women’s soccer team to an SEC title by defeating Arkansas 3-1. Fuller had three saves in the match.Fuller is also using the opportunity to raise funds for charity. NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) — Police arrested a 28-year-old Texas resident Thursday in connection with a motel fire and stabbing several days earlier.Police said Jeremiah Dayvon King was arrested after a woman was found stabbed several times outside of a burning motel room just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The fire occurred at the Roadway Inn Motel in the 600 block of Roosevelt Ave. Several guests pulled an unconscious woman from the woman and tried to put out the flames before police arrived. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with burns and multiple stab wounds. She was in stable condition on Thursday.Thursday, King was seen walking in the 300 block of Oxford Street in Chula Vista, when he was approached by officers and fled. Multiple people were busy Monday morning in Fort Pierce rescuing baby sea turtles that were stuck in seaweed from the high surf and strong winds of Hurricane Irma.The rescue was occurring at 10 a.m. at Jetty Park. A man named Eric said he spoke with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, who told him to put wet sand in a bucket and collect the stranded turtles.    FWC originally said to put the turtles back into the water but later changed their mind.“Originally FWC told me to put them back into the water, but we noticed that they were just coming right back onto the shore because the waves are just too strong for these little creatures,” said Eric.He said when other people in the area saw what he was doing, they jumped in to help with the rescue.The group of people were frantically digging through a massive mound of seaweed with their bare hands to save as many turtles as possible.By 10 a.m., the group had rescued about 50 to 60 baby sea turtles and nine eggs that were not broken. Unfortunatly they found about 20 small turtles that did not survive Irma.FWC said they come by later to collect the turtles.  1181
