TAMPA, Fla. — Kids may be spending more time online this summer than in years past due to the coronavirus pandemic — and authorities warn online predators could use that extra, unsupervised time to their advantage."They had some incidences where people had broken into their Zoom calls, and what was great about that was because we had created a space where dialogue can happen, they told me about it," Damaris Allen, the Immediate Past President of the Hillsborough County PTA said. Some officials worry now may be the most dangerous time for online predators."With camps being limited, parents being stretched thin, and kids spending more time online, it creates, unfortunately, a perfect storm for online predators," Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren said.Warren released a video on social media Monday with three tips for parents can take to help their kids have a "Secure Summer."First, the State Attorney says talk to your child and explain how they may be approached."Secondly, make sure that parents are actually watching what their kids are doing online," said Warren "Have the passwords, check to see what kids are doing and what information they're receiving."Warren also suggests using parental controls on devices and apps to choose what your child can access. His office says it has already seen online predators try to exploit children during the pandemic."Law enforcement is really paying attention to what's going on online now. We're working overtime to catch online predators," Warren said. "We're going to aggressively prosecute them. We won't stand for anyone trying to take advantage of our kids, especially during such a difficult time for all of us."Parents suggest starting that conversation now, so kids know they have a safe space to start a dialogue."This is a scary topic, don't avoid it because it's a scary topic," said Allen. Superhero creator and legend Stan Lee has filed a lawsuit in excess of billion against a company he co-founded.The suit, filed Tuesday Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Pow! Entertainment conspired with two employees to steal Lee's identity.According to the lawsuit obtained by CNN, Pow! Entertainment CEO Shane Duffy and co-founder Gill Champion "conspired and agreed to broker a sham deal to sell POW! to a company in China and fraudulently steal Stan Lee's identity, name, image, and likeness as part of a nefarious scheme to benefit financially at Lee's expense."The complaint centers around the 2017 sale of the company to Hong Kong-based Camsing International.Lee, Champion, and Arthur Liberman formed Pow! Entertainment in 2001, the suit states.Lee, who helped create Black Panther, Iron Man, the X-Men and countless other Marvel characters in comic books and on the big screen, was led to believe he had entered into a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Pow!, according to the complaint.Lee says the defendants fraudulently obtained his signature, allowing Pow! Inc. to gain "the exclusive right to use Lee's name, identity, image and likeness on a worldwide basis in perpetuity."The complaint also states that Duffy, Champion and Lee's former business manager Jerardo Olivarez (who is not named as a defendant in the suit) took advantage of his grief over the death of his wife of 70 years, Joan B. Lee, last year and his poor eyesight due to macular degeneration.In the suit, Lee alleges that Olivarez managed to convince him to sign a power of attorney to gain control over Lee's assets.Duffy and Champion have not responded to CNN's request for comment.CNN has reached out to Lee and Pow! TAMPA, Fla. — The Centers for Disease Control has just identified more than 220 strains of what they call “nightmare bacteria” that can kill up to 50 percent of the people who catch them.“I never ever thought that I would end up getting MRSA,” said Sandra Jankowski, who was infected with antibiotic resistant bacteria her father contracted during a visit to a local hospital.Jankowski believes she was infected while caring for her father at a nursing home.“He had small scrapes and other things, which meant what was there in his system was sort of out there for all the rest of us,” she said.Jankowski contracted MRSA in her eyes and she underwent treatment for months.“It's much more rampant than we realize and very difficult to get rid of,” Jankowski said.She was lucky, because her infection eventually responded to drugs.But the CDC announced Tuesday that researchers have identified more than 220 strains nationwide that don't respond to drugs.“We are learning what is the extent of the problem and how to best manage it. And that's so critical,” said Dr. Seetha Lakshmi, an infectious disease specialist at Tampa General Hospital.She says new research and better communication between local partners and state and federal agencies will help address the crisis.The first of its kind nationwide assessment released Tuesday provides new information to providers.The CDC has more than 500 employees dedicated to containing unusual antibiotic resistance.“If you're the frontline provider, how do you act on this issue? What are your resources? TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Tallahassee Police Department announced Tuesday the outcome of a "large-scale" human trafficking investigation that resulted in 178 people being arrested.The department recently concluded a two-year-long operation, called "Operation Stolen Innocence," involving human trafficking and child sex trafficking right within the Capital City community.TPD Chief Revell said that it started with an investigation after a 13-year-old child’s image was seen on a prostitution website. Investigators with TPD’s Special Victims Unit set up an operation to rescue the child to ensure her safety.
