SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — With San Diego County back in the purple tier, religious gatherings have to move back outdoors.The first Sunday back in California’s most restrictive tier and Rock Church held five outdoor services around the county, but this is not new for them. The megachurch moved to live streaming of services at the beginning of the pandemic, then added in outdoor services about six weeks ago.In the red tier, religious services could hold indoor services at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever was fewer. Point Loma’s Pastor Travis Gibson said during this time, they had the option to move outdoors, but with 7,000 people attending Point Loma’s services alone, it wasn’t worth it.“One hundred people is not even the volunteers so this is the best option,” he said, standing outside after an outdoor service.RELATED: San Diego houses of worship told to move services outside by SaturdayHe said they have anywhere from 50,000 to 75,000 people watching their live streamed services every week, with only about 1,000 people coming to this new outside setup, but they’re happy to be able to give different worship options to their members.“There are so many ways to worship God. Four walls are great. You can control the temperature, you can control the airplanes, you can control the lights, but you don’t need it to worship God,” said Pastor Travis.He said they do not have plans to try to move back inside anytime soon because they don’t want to switch back and forth, so they’re moving slowly and making sure the online and outside services work.RELATED: San Diego County health officials warn local churches about holding indoor servicesNot every church has been as flexible. This is the second time churches were asked to move outside. The first time churches were banned from indoor services in July, at least three San Diego churches were either sent warning letters or cease and desist letters because they refused to move outdoors. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — You've likely seen the bar nestled next to Interstate 5 on India St., just across from the San Diego International Airport.Its plane-shaped sign pointed toward the heavens, glowing neon red as the sun sets on the city.The Aero Club has sat near the airport since 1947, serving residents of the Mission Hills area, factory employees who worked near the airfield, and service members passing through town or deployed to San Diego.MORE places to explore in San DiegoSince it was opened by Mariam Profit in 1947, originally as a place for employees working at the nearby aircraft factory, the bar has been a spot for the everyday worker.It's that colorful past that has added to the bar's history decade after decade, according to bar owner Bill Lutzius."Over the years, different groups come and go. For a long time we had the Coast Guard helicopter pilots coming in all the time," Lutzius recalled. "In the 70s, it was like a cop bar, they called it. I know it was like a biker bar for a while."Lutzius ran through the times of the day when certain clientele roll through: The neighbors first, those heading home from work second, people out for dinner next, the late-night crowd after, then finally the late-night workers just getting off a shift.Behind him, photos of past guests: Locals, military pilots, sailors, an array of aircraft nose art.He recalls the former Aero Club owners as well. One owner used to leave the keys for guests to lock up at the end of the night. Another owner was actually a group of Greyhound bus drivers."A lot of characters came and went ... A bar is an awesome place for the neighborhood because it's sort of a meeting place," Lutzius said. "Everybody catches up on what's going on."While not an owner, Lutzius said one frequent guest used to be a dog. The bar's then-owner would give it a free beer.Today, the bar continues to serve an eclectic crowd, boasting 1,200 different types of whiskey. The wall behind the bar is clad in bottles glistening against a ceiling covered with strings of lights.While the whiskey sign outside the bar reads 900, rest assured there's much more. Lutzius says it just became too much to continue updating it.But how did they all get there? That's on Lutzius."I guess I'm just an obsessive person. It may not even be logical, you know, to do it. But just because of my personality we'd just buy anything we can buy," Lutzius said. "We ended up with about 1,200 whiskeys ... SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two UC San Diego Health workers have tested positive for COVID-19, officials with the medical system announced Saturday.UCSD Health said in a statement that the workers "are recuperating at home and doing well," officials said."Both infected health workers sought medical assessment after exhibiting key respiratory symptoms, and were tested," according to UCSD Health.University officials cite "exposure and infection in the community" as reasons for the workers contracting the virus, rather than from travel or a patient."UC San Diego Health has launched an extensive effort to identify any patients or health system colleagues who may have been in recent contact with either of the two health workers," officials said.The group operates three hospitals: UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest, Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla, and Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center also in La Jolla. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two bystanders were hurt in a shooting Saturday evening in Paradise Hills.San Diego Police said two Hispanic men were shooting at each other around 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Reo Dr. 10News spoke to witness Jauhn Hinkle, who was waiting to get his hair cut at the Fade Factory across the street. “Small caliber pops started going off across the street. I saw a muzzle flash,” he said. Hinkle said the fight began near the corner of Reo Drive and Cumberland Street. It escalated, as the two began to yell obscenities. Then one of the men started to chase the other while shooting at him. Hinkle recalled seeing five or six shots, all of which seemed to miss the intended target. Instead, two innocent bystanders were hurt. A bullet hit a 15-year-old boy in the thigh, and shrapnel hit a 48-year-old woman in the leg, police said.Hinkle ran toward the woman, who took cover in the La Palapa Market. “I asked where she was shot. She didn't know because of adrenaline and shock. She was on the phone screaming,” Hinkle said. The woman was transported to the hospital from the scene. The 15-year-old boy was transported to a different hospital, at a later time, San Diego Police said. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.Hinkle said it is disappointing to see his neighborhood be the scene of a violent crime.  “Project Reo is doing an excellent job. Shout out to them," Hinkle said. "We want this place to pick up. and I think it is, so it's not reflective of what this neighborhood is like.”The shooters ran away.
