SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A motorist was injured Wednesday night after his motorcycle collided with a trash truck in Serra Mesa.According to San Diego Police, the crash happened around 6:13 p.m at Larkdale Avenue and Murray Ridge Road.The circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear, but officers say that, following the crash, the motorcyclist was pinned under the truck.After the man was freed, he was taken to the hospital with major injuries to his legs.His condition is unclear at this time. 508

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local Naval officer is making a plea for tips after thieves made off with some priceless military heirlooms.On Tuesday, Gervy Alota's wife called him after she returned to their home on Linbrook Drive."Just completely ransacked my house...my heart sunk," said Alota.Since there were no clear signs of entry, Alota believes the thieves got in through the doggie door in the back of the home.Among the missing items were several dozen collectible Jordan sneakers and about 15 pieces of jewelry, including Alota's class ring from the Naval Academy.  He calls it a symbol of the start of his 20-year Navy career.  A class ring belonging to his wife - also a graduate - was also stolen. 720

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A parole board Tuesday granted parole to an actor previously convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend nearly two dozen times.Shelley Malil, who had a supporting role in the movie “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” was convicted seven years ago of repeatedly stabbing Kendra Beebe in San Marcos.Beebe spoke to 10News after Malil was granted Parole. “Why are we letting out this person who’s going to go back out and go back on the internet and date and possibly relapse and hurt somebody else.” RELATED: 40-Year-Old Virgin actor deemed suitable for parole, 10 years after brutally stabbing ex-girlfriendAs of this year, Malil had served 9 years of his 12-years-to-life sentence. Some restaurants have had to close altogether, not able to afford to keep their doors open. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new poll shows what Californians thought of President Donald Trump’s address to the nation Tuesday night. During the address, the President made an appeal to the American people on border security and a proposed border wall. Of 1,000 people asked for the 10News/Union Tribune poll, 35 percent say they watched the address while 32 percent say they didn’t. Of those who saw the address, a majority say they believe most of what the President said is false, while 23 percent say it was a mix of true and false. 539
