Anyone with info call 727-893-7780 pic.twitter.com/zoICcaYvpI— St. Pete Police (@StPetePD) July 7, 2020 The area is used by several drivers to cut to busy 34th Street South and police officers hope someone may have seen something suspicious while driving on 38th Avenue S.The area where the remains were found does not have any surveillance cameras and is not in direct view of many homes or businesses, according to detectives.Officers spent hours Tuesday looking in the wooded area around the overpass but did not find the rest of the body.Ernest Lee lives in the neighborhood and says he was in disbelief Tuesday morning as the path he walks several times a week turned into a crime scene.“I do a lot of walking and we have a whole community that walks around here so I’m surprised none of us came across it," Lee explained. “The whole neighborhood is concerned because that could be someone we know.”Detectives say the woman who found the remains told police she jogs in the area often but did not see anything suspicious during her previous run in the same area over the weekend.Rafael Lopez, a spokesperson for the St. Petersburg Police Department says it is too early to determine the gender, age or race of the remains. Lopez also said the head was decomposed and it is unknown how long the remains may have been present near the road.“We do have a wooded area on both ends so although we are in the center of the city, it occurred in a pocket where it is pretty hard to determine if anyone saw anything at all," Lopez added. "We’re asking the public if they saw anything or were around this area in the last several days to give us a call.”This story is developing. Gyms are doing whatever they can to get you back, but many are wondering if it’s safe. A public health expert says it depends on what precautions your gym is taking.“The fact is that the gyms don't spread disease,” said Dr. Jay Wolfson, a public health professor at the University of South Florida. “The people within them who are coming into the gym and not cleaning up after themselves and are not maintaining social distances, and the gym staff, if they're not being attentive and conscientious in terms of disinfecting, are the ones who are aiding a abetting the spread of the disease.”There's evidence showing coronavirus can be spread through aerosol and droplets. Those droplets can float in the air long enough to be inhaled. And they could travel more aggressively when we’re working out.“Just as when you yell and scream, and you'll be sweating, and you'll be hyperventilating sometimes, so those droplet nuclei are going to come out, which means the larger particles are going to rest on some of the equipment as well as in the air,” said Wolfson.Wolfson says it may be hard to monitor gyms across the country because the rules in certain cities and states are different. And it's hard to know if a case is tied to a gym.A Norwegian university looked at whether workout facilities played a role in the spread. It didn't find any cases in people who went to the gym and took proper precautions.Researchers said going to the gym is relatively safe in areas where there aren't many infections. 1509

GOP Sen. Rand Paul was assaulted in his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Friday, according to Kentucky State Police.State troopers responded to a call to the senator's residence at 3:21 p.m. Friday. Police arrested a man named Rene Albert Boucher, who they allege "intentionally assaulted" Paul, causing him "minor injury."Boucher, 59, of Bowling Green was charged with one count of fourth-degree assault. As of Saturday afternoon, he was being held in the Warren County Regional Jail on a ,000 bond.Police were not immediately clear on why Boucher allegedly assaulted Paul. GRETNA, Fla. — “He started screaming oh my god, oh my god!” Gayle Sweet recalled Thursday as she sobbed in pain while sitting inside of a pickup truck in the driveway of her Gretna, Florida Home. Her husband, Steve, is one of six confirmed fatalities, so far, in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.Sweet says she and her husband were on the front porch of their mobile home when she heard what sounded like a freight train. Moments later, she says she watched as all the trees around them started leaning to the side. Steve yelled, 'Get inside the house!' she recalled.Seconds later, a huge oak tree fell on top of the house, landing on top of Steve and pinning Sweet inside for hours. 698
