(KGTV) — Police have made an arrest after the body of a man was discovered in a bank parking lot late Wednesday.Chula Vista Police said 37-year-old Angel Padilla was arrested shortly before 12 p.m. on Thursday in the 300 block of Third Avenue.Police said a suspect matching Padilla's description was seen on security footage with a hatchet-type weapon near where the victim was found.The victim was discovered just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday behind the Bank of America located at 295 E Street. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Federal and local authorities, in addition to hazmat crews, were called out to the scene of a drug raid in Chula Vista after agents found fentanyl and THC extraction on the property. The raid happened at a home on 2nd Avenue Wednesday afternoon. DEA officials confirmed the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation. DEA agents arrested one man during their search, and he is suspected of mixing fentanyl with other illegal drugs, according to a DEA spokesperson. Agents did not identify the man or disclose the amount of drugs found. The hazardous materials teams were summoned to the scene to investigate any possible contamination in the neighborhood and to process the drugs that were discovered. 747

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police in Chula Vista have identified the man suspected of killing a relative Saturday afternoon. According to police, Norberto Sanchez, 55, is suspected of shooting and killing 65-year-old Maria Esther Gonzales on the 1100 block of Oasis Avenue. Police received a call around 12:30 p.m. from Sanchez’s niece. The woman told police that Sanchez called her to tell her he killed his father’s wife and was on his way to her home on the 500 block of Arizona Street. Police responded to the area and arrested Sanchez for murder. At this time, it’s unclear what the motive may have been for the crime.
