MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire crews responded Friday to a wildfire threatening utility infrastructure in Moreno Valley. The first firefighters to reach the scene along Gilman Springs Road reported four spot fires approximately one mile apart and one acre each, Cal Fire tweeted. Within an hour, the so-called Jerry Fire spread to 500 acres with a rapid rate of spread and no containment.Multiple structures were threatened, said officials. Aerial video from the scene showed at least one structure engulfed in flames. Approximately 15 homes on Gilman Springs Road between Highway 60 and Jack Rabbit Trail were evacuated.There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. About 3:30 p.m., winds in the area are 8 miles per hour and the temperatures are in the low 70s, according to 10News meterologist Angelica Campos. MULBERRY, Fla. — Polk County Fire Rescue responded to Mulberry Middle School in Mulberry, Fla. on Thursday after several students suddenly became sick after they reportedly consumed THC laced gummy bears. Five of the ill students were taken to the hospital and one was picked up by their parents. A spokesperson with Polk County Schools tells us the students consumed gummy bears that contained THC. The Sheriff's Office said one 12-year-old supplied the gummies. That child is being charged with seven felonies and a misdemeanor charge.The Polk County Sheriff says the students had a negative reaction to the THC laced gummy bears they ingested. The Sheriff's Office is investigating how the students got the candy in the first place.  764

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Pregnant women in the healthcare industry are wondering if they should get the COVID-19 vaccine since it's available to them following the emergency use authorization.At Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Jennifer Thompson, an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said the risks associated with getting COVID-19 while pregnant are far worse than the risks associated with the vaccine. Thompson said, "They have increased risk of hospitalization, need for ICU, mechanical ventilation, and a slight increase risk in death compared to non-pregnant patients." She said her recommendation pertains to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for her patients who are pregnant, or trying to get pregnant. “So because of that increased risk, women who are pregnant are considered a higher risk group, and so therefore many of our organizations the CDC, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine recommend that the COVID-19 vaccine should not be withheld from pregnant individuals who meet criteria for vaccination based on their recommended priority group,” Thompson said.Dr. Thomspon practices what she preaches. "I actually received my vaccine on Friday, so I’m not concerned at this point about the long-term safety data," Thompson said. She noted that she’s had no side effects yet.While pregnant women were excluded from the trials, some women joined not knowing they were pregnant. Dr. Thompson said they’ve been following those cases closely. "These numbers are really small, but we have not seen significant adverse reactions both from a pregnancy standpoint or a fetal standpoint," Thompson said.Unfortunately, there's a lot of misinformation out there. There was an article circulating online which said the vaccine could cause infertility. Dr. Thompson said there’s no evidence to support that. "There’s some concern that the spike protein has a similar genetic makeup to one of the proteins in the placenta, however that similarity is less than 1%, and infertility has not been found from any of the scientific data," Thompson said. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine is believed to be safe for women who are breast-feeding. Live vaccines are not recommended for pregnant women, but the COVID-19 vaccine is not live. “It’s an mRNA vaccine which is broken down by the body, and not incorporated into your DNA at all,” Thompson said, “Fetal risks are thought to be low due to the fact that the mRNA is broken down by your circulation and pre-clinical studies have been very reassuring.”If you have questions, talk to your doctor. MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. — Tempers flared at a Michigan gym, and the confrontation was caught on camera.It started when Rachel Dixson says she went to get a new membership. After asking for a manager and resolving the situation, her information was violated, and her business attacked.According Dixson, who signed up to work out and at the Planet Fitness on Groesbeck in Mount Clemens, Michigan, while she was tanning the employee that signed her up looked her up on the web, found out she owns a car dealership and started writing negative and vulgar reviews.Video taken inside the Mount Clemens Planet Fitness Thursday shows Dixson confronting an employee.She says it all started much earlier that morning when she went to sign up.“It was my first time in the gym in a couple years, so I was pretty pumped and excited to work out,” says Dixson.But there was a problem. Dixson says the employee helping her wouldn’t let her pay with a debit card or include tanning in the package.She says her husband had paid before with the same card, so she asked for a manager.“(The manager) said no problem,” Dixson says. “They took my payment. He helped me with the tanning. I went in the tanning bed, and I worked out.”While she was doing that though, she says the employee was working on trying to ruin her business's reputation with negative reviews.This is one example:“She says this is absolute worst company in existence,” says Dixson. “You sell **** cars. Everything you do is backwards, and the owner Rachel is a ****ing ***** and I hope you die in one of your **** cars you ****ing c***.”She was able to track down through Google reviews the name of who posted.“I plugged her name on the search bar on Facebook, and I recognized her as the employee who helped me that morning at Planet Fitness,” Dixson says.So she confronted her— cameras rolling.“When I walked in, she was just looking at me, all of those emotions of feeling violated came out,” Dixson says.The employee has a very different story of how this played out.She says Rachel was incredibly rude, so she did post one Google review that was not vulgar, but she knew she was in the wrong and deleted it an hour later.She says she apologized and quit as well but was terrified during that confrontation.Planet Fitness issued the following statement to WXYZ: 2349
