LA JOLLA (CNS) - A man was seriously injured Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle, which hit a median and rolled over a couple of times, police said.The man, 59, was driving a 2001 Toyota Tundra westbound in the 2500 block of La Jolla Parkway at about 6 a.m. when he experienced a possible medical condition, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, said Officer Tony Martinez of the San Diego Police Department."The vehicle veered to the left and struck the raised concrete median," he said. "The vehicle rolled over a couple of times and came to rest in the westbound No. 1 lane, facing east."The driver sustained a spinal fracture and he was taken to the hospital.Traffic Division officers responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation, Martinez said. 789

Jerome Corsi is suing Robert Mueller in federal court in the District of Columbia.Previously, the Roger Stone acquaintance testified before the Mueller grand jury and publicly released a draft version of a criminal false statements plea with the Special Counsel's Office -- to which he refused to agree.Now in the lawsuit, Corsi says federal authorities have unconstitutionally searched his electronic records and his phone.The lawsuit is the latest example of pushback from individuals called upon by Mueller to provide information in the Russia probe.Corsi claims that because he investigated Hillary Clinton's missing emails in 2016 and guessed Wikileaks would leak hacked emails from Clinton's campaign chairman, Mueller has unfairly targeted him."Defendant Mueller has threatened to indict Plaintiff Corsi and effectively put him in federal prison for the rest of his life unless Plaintiff Corsi would provide the false testimony that they demanded, even after being informed that the testimony desired would be false," Corsi wrote in the lawsuit.Corsi, who has talked about his experience with the investigation to media and on his own show, also claims that Mueller has leaked grand jury secrets without providing any specific evidence beyond an article where sources are not described.As an example, Corsi cites an ABC News article detailing how he has become a "central figure" in the Mueller probe and says Mueller spokesman Peter Carr periodically meets with journalists at the Paul coffee shop at 8th and Pennsylvania Avenue to leak information at Mueller's direction. Corsi provided an email between Carr and a journalist as proof, though it did not indicate any specific topic that was discussed or include any evidence of reporting from the journalist to prove a leak."These leaks are meant to pressure Plaintiff Corsi into providing the false testimony that Defendant Mueller and his staff seek by portraying Plaintiff Corsi negatively through the media, as well as to destroy him if he does not comply," Corsi writes in the lawsuit."These leaks are also intended to send a message to other supporters of the president that they had best comply with the unlawful demands of Defendant Mueller and his prosecutorial staff or be indicted or at the least irreparably smeared and destroyed in the public domain."The lawsuit was filed Sunday night by Corsi's lawyer, the conservative freedom of information advocate Larry Klayman. Johnson & Johnson announced it has paused its coronavirus vaccine trials on Monday following an “unexplained illness” among one of its participants.Johnson & Johnson stressed that adverse events during trials are expected, and a pause gives researchers an opportunity to review all of the medical information before moving forward with the trial. Johnson & Johnson added that it’s not always immediately known if the affected person received a placebo or a study treatment.Among the trials paused was Johnson & Johnson’s multi-country “ENSEMBLE” vaccine, which entered Phase 3 testing in September. Johnson & Johnson said last month that its goal was to seek an emergency use authorization approval in early 2021.The FDA noted that a vaccine candidate must be at least 50% effective to receive emergency use authorization. Vaccine candidates should include a median follow-up duration of at least two months after completion of the full vaccination regimen to help provide adequate information to assess a vaccine’s risk-benefit.According to the FDA, a typical Phase 3 trial would take one to three years.“NIH is committed to supporting several Phase 3 vaccine trials to increase the odds that one or more will be effective in preventing COVID-19 and put us on the road to recovery from this devastating pandemic,” said NIH Director Francis S. JAMUL, Calif., (KGTV) — Nearly 200 volunteers helped to beautify an injured Navy Veteran’s new home in Jamul. “I stepped on one of the IEDs, and that’s when I got blown up,” Petty Officer Christopher Andrieu told 10News.He joined the Navy in 2007, and for his entire service, he has worked as an EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) officer. But in 2013, when he and SEAL Team 5 were in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, he sustained a life-changing injury. Since then, even little things have become arduous tasks for the double amputee. “To get the dishes down, I jump up on the counter if I’m not on my legs,” he chuckled. Andrieu and his family now live in a small house in Claremont. But thanks to non-profit, Homes for Our Troops, he will soon be moving up the hill to much larger home in Jamul. “It was my top choices for a lot, so I was really happy we got this,” Andrieu said. The lot has a beautiful view of the small town and has a spacious half acre front yard. The home is not finished yet but has appliances and shelves built slightly lower to accommodate Andrieu. It has been two years since Andrieu started the application process with Homes for Our Troops. One of the last big projects was the landscaping. That’s where the volunteers came in. “It’s really cool to support who we want to be,” volunteer, Alex Kulik said. Kulik is a senior at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, hoping to become an EOD expert. He and nine other Midshipmen doing summer training in San Diego volunteered to help the non-profit with the project. “I don’t think any of us has experienced what he has, and just to see his optimism, I think it should be able to push anyone,” Kulik said. “Military or non-military, to get through whatever their challenge may be, and come out with a smile in the end.“Andrieu’s heroism and positivity drove the hundreds of volunteers to create a luxurious yard in just 55 minutes."It's a life-changing moment for a deserving veteran," Community Outreach Coordinator for Homes for Our Troops, Mell Barbosa, said. “All the people who came out, I'd say most of them, I didn’t know beforehand,” Andrieu said. “I can’t even say it… it’s just awesome.”Homes for our Troops is sprinting to the finish line.
