The Los Angeles County District Attorney is forming a task force to evaluate sexual assault cases in Hollywood."In response to the widespread allegations of sexual abuse in the entertainment industry, I have established a task force of specially trained deputy district attorneys who are ready to evaluate these cases if any are referred to my office for criminal prosecution," Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement. The Philadelphia Police Department has released officer-worn body camera footage and 911 calls from an October shooting that led to the death of Walter Wallace, Jr.ABC News reports that the release maks the first time in the department's history that it has released body camera footage.Wallace was shot and killed by police on Oct. 26. Police at the time said they were responding to reports of a man with a weapon and that Wallace did not respond to orders to drop a knife he was holding.According to WPVI-TV, Philadelphia police received three 911 calls regarding the incident. The first came from a neighbor who reported that a fight next door. The other two calls came from family members, who asked for help in dealing with Wallace.Bodycam footage from the incident shows officers Wallace leaving a house and walking toward the street holding a knife. Police repeatedly yelled at Wallace to drop his knife and ask others in the area to back away.Despite repeated warnings to drop his weapon, the video shows Wallace circling a parked car and walking toward officers. Police fired 14 shots toward Wallace, though the department has not confirmed how many of those shots struck Wallace.Wallace was later transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.According to WPVI, officers are the scene were not armed with less-lethal weapons, like stun guns. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Wednesday that the department has sought funding to equip more officers with stun guns.Wallace's death sparked a few days of protests in Philadelphia. Police say that 30 police officers suffered minor injuries during the demonstrations. 1653

The look on Seth Dixon’s face as he proposed to his girlfriend said it all, but not in the way you might think.According to a?post on wedding photographer Staci Dabney’s Facebook page, Dixon had taken his girlfriend, Ruth Salas, to Loose Park to ask her one of the most important questions in both of their lives."We've been dating for almost four years and we knew this day was coming," he explained. The setting was as picturesque as it gets. Imagine a beautiful wooden bridge stretching over a pond with gorgeous fall weather and lush greenery creating a dreamy background."I knew I wanted to propose (at Loose Park) just because it's kind of our spot," Dixon explained. "We just kind of fell in love with the park and the beauty of it."Of course, cameras were rolling as Dixon fell to his knee."Next thing you know, it's happening. I couldn't believe it," Salas explained. "At first, I was like, 'Oh my goodness. This is happening. He's on one knee.'" Excitement was written all over his and Salas’ faces, but their expressions soon turned to looks of horror.Dixon opened the little black box to reveal the ring… just before it flipped out of his hands, through a tiny crack in the boards of the bridge, and into that pond below."It ping-ponged through the crack and I hear it plop in the water," Salas said. "I know (finding the ring) was important to them. If it was me, I would hope they would do it for me."They sadly were not able to find it, so instead set up a GoFundMe page to help the couple purchase a new one.Amazingly, the couple now maintains a positive spirit following the incident."It's been a roller coaster. Emotions have been up and down," Dixon said. "After seeing the video over and over we just started laughing about it." Moving forward, the couple said the ring incident would add to the story of their relationship."We've been together for four years with ups and downs," Salas explained. The ongoing feud between the National Rifle Association and the medical community continues in wake of a shooting at a Chicago hospital Monday.A recent article published earlier this month by physicians called gun violence a public health crisis and called for tougher gun laws. In response, the NRA tweeted that doctors should “stay in their lane.”The NRA’s response received backlash, with doctors across the U.S. and abroad expressing their disdain using the hashtag #ThisisMyLane, often with graphic images giving a glimpse into emergency rooms after treating victims of gun violence.Monday, gun violence became personal for doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital in Chicago after a shooter entered, killing an ER doctor, a pharmacy resident and a Chicago Police Officer.Now, another group of doctors are pushing back against the NRA. In an editorial published by the Annals of Internal Medicine, doctors say they won’t be silenced in using what they learn to better care for their patients.“The NRA does not believe firearm-related injury and its prevention is within the purview of physicians.
