The New York prosecutor who has been fighting to get President Donald Trump’s tax returns got a bank last year to turn over other Trump financial records. The New York Times reported Wednesday that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance sent a subpoena last year to Deutsche Bank as part of his investigation into Trump’s business dealings. The Times cited four people familiar with the inquiry. Vance’s office declined to comment. Attorneys for Trump and Deutsche Bank didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. Vance is a Democrat. Trump has called his investigation “a continuation of the witch hunt.” 625

The NFL has revealed some of its plans regarding Super Bowl LV in Tampa. The league is now planning for 20% capacity at the stadium, ESPN reports.Crowds at football games this year have been mixed, with some teams allowing limited fans and some not allowing any guests.ESPN's Adam Schefter also reports if a Week 18 is added to this regular season, the off week would be eliminated and Super Bowl LV would stay on February 7.Tampa is set to host the Super Bowl, and just last month the NFL said it was preparing for a full house.Thousands are also expected to attend events that week along the Riverwalk downtown.Tampa's Mayor Jane Castor said she had a meeting on Tuesday related to the Super Bowl and plans are in place for 16,000 to 70,000 fans and it will take more time to determine how many people will be allowed to attend."We’re going to put on the most spectacular Super Bowl ever under probably the most different circumstances ever, but this is Tampa and we do things big here so it will be safe and it will be spectacular," she added. The President and CEO of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce Kelly Flannery said in a statement, "The Super Bowl provides for a considerable economic boost for host cities and our local businesses will benefit from having Super Bowl 55 in Tampa in an incredible way."Rob Higgins with Tampa Bay Sports Commission said they are working closely with the NFL and local public health officials to determine what the capacity will be for the Super Bowl."It is not known at this time. We know that the numbers will evolve over the next few months. We'll be following conditions in the county and the state, and the NFL will make a determination based on approvals locally. Clubs across the league-including the Bucks- are starting to include more fans into stadiums, but are not currently at full capacity," he said in a statement. This article was written by Dan Trujillo for WFTS. 1928

The political and judicial world were turned upside down on Friday following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. While many questions remain in Washington, like whether President Donald Trump has the votes to replace Ginsburg before the election, one thing is clear: issues will come before the Supreme Court very soon.HEALTH CARE ARGUMENTS IN NOVEMBERWhile election issues are expected, the future of the Affordable Care Act is an issue guaranteed to come up before the Supreme Court soon. A hearing is set to take place one week after the election regarding whether the law can be struck down. Essentially, Republicans from around the country believe that the only reason the Supreme Court upheld the law in 2012 was because the opinion said Congress has the power to tax. Since that time, however, Trump has removed the tax penalty for not having health insurance. The thinking from some conservatives is that since the tax penalty is gone, the entire law can be struck down now, too. WHERE THE COURT STANDS Prior to Ginsburg's death, the general thinking was that the law would still stand. It faced a challenged in 2012, but Chief Justice John Roberts sided with four liberal justices to uphold it. With Ginsburg's passing, there are only three liberal justices on the court. If Roberts joins the liberal justices it would create a 4-4 tie. "If there is a 4-4 split on the court, then no precedent is set and whatever the lower court decided stands," Professor Paul Schiff Berman with George Washington University said. That would mean parts of the Affordable Care Act can be struck down since lower courts have already ruled in that way. If Trump is able to get another nominee on the court before the hearing, it would only make the court more conservative. Berman cautioned though that other conservatives could potentially join the liberals on this case since the lawsuit's legal standing is murky. Still, the future of the Affordable Care Act is in more jeopardy today than it was last Thursday. 2020
