BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- The sixth plenary session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Thursday endorsed prior decisions to expel four former senior officials from the Party, according to a communique issued after the four-day meeting.

They also voiced support for the two groups to learn from positive experiences, carry out closer cooperation in international affairs, improve global economic governance system and work together to address challenges, thus achieving common development.

"There's never before been a currency of emerging markets that is being used for international transactions in the IMF to borrow and lend. This is the first time that has ever happened," Tamim Bayoumi, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, told Xinhua.

Li urged attendees to tap new opportunities in educational cooperation to promote a closer China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership.

"The exchange of visits within one month showed that China-Canada relations are entering a new stage," said Li who referred to Trudeau's recent official visit to China, adding that "it's rare in the bilateral ties, and conforms to the interests of both countries as well as the expectations of the international community."
