Apple announced on Friday that it is planning to temporarily close several of its locations in four states as the number of coronavirus cases in some US states are surging.Apple said that two stores in Florida, two in North Carolina, one in South Carolina and six in Arizona will be closed until further notice. An Arizona mother has been arrested after police found audio recordings of her threatening to kill her abused infant. Mesa police report that on Wednesday morning, 18-year-old Leticia Stella Palos, was arrested in Casa Grande for child abuse.Investigators say on July 7, a 3-month-old boy was taken to Cardon’s Children Hospital for an injured right arm. Doctors discovered that his upper arm was broken. Doctors also allegedly found multiple bruises and fractures to three ribs in various states of healing. Police say the doctors determined that these injuries were "highly suspicious for non-accidental trauma."Detectives checked Palos' cell phone and reportedly found multiple recordings sent from her to the boy's father, where they heard the boy breathing "heavy and fast."In other recordings, they reportedly heard the child screaming. Palos was also heard in the recordings threatening to "throw the victim in the trash," and "that she is going to kill the victim."She also allegedly referenced drug use in the recordings.She is being held on a ,000 bond for child abuse.If you suspect a child is being abused, the Arizona Department of Child Services has resources available to report the issue to a social worker. As Americans face the complications of holding holiday celebrations amid the ongoing pandemic, President-elect Joe Biden says he and his family are trying to navigate the same issues, with safety measures.Biden said Monday that he and his wife are planning to follow the advice of medical officials who recommend no more than 10 people at a gathering, masked and socially distanced. An alleged sex-trafficking victim was able to escape her captors by jumping out of an 18-wheeler Wednesday night.The Cisco Police Department says around 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a female who had been seriously injured near the Flying J/Denny's on IH-20.Police say the female injured herself after jumping from an 18-wheeler. She told officers she had been kidnapped in El Paso.It is believed that the perpetrators were going to use the female in sex trafficking operations.The Cisco Fire Department, Cisco EMS and DPS Troopers were also on-scene. The female was transported to a medical facility for treatment of her injuries.The 18-wheeler is described as a green truck tractor with a white stripe and pulling a white box-type trailer. It is occupied by three men.Another female is reportedly still in the truck and maybe in grave danger.A statewide broadcast was issued last night by Cisco PD in an attempt to locate the truck. As of publication, there has been no contact with the truck.Anyone with information is asked to contact local law enforcement at 254-629-1728.
