SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A dream became reality for a San Diego woman, but not in a good way. Jenna Evans says she swallowed her engagement ring in her sleep.Tuesday night, Evans dreamed that she and her fiance, Bobby, were facing off with "bad guys" on a high-speed train. During the struggle, Bobby told Evans that she had to swallow her engagement ring to protect it. So she did. Not just in her dream, but in real life. She woke to find the ring clean off her finger. "When I woke up and it was not on my hand, I knew exactly where it was," Evans said. "It was in my stomach."The next morning, Evans and her future husband went to Urgent Care, where they saw her X-rays. Her ring was clearly nestled right in her stomach.A gastroenterologist, however, suggested it would not be best to let nature run its course. Doctors recommended an upper endoscopy to remove her beloved bling."I was really happy because I don't know if I can look at it and appreciate it in the same way, if I had to search for it," Evans chuckled.At this point, Evans says she could feel the ring in her stomach and it was starting to become painful.Doctors safely removed the ring from her intestines and returned the jewelry to Evans — well, to Bobby for safe keeping, at least. Bobby eventually gave Evans her ring back."I feel very grateful that I got it back, and that this is a happy and funny story," Evans said. It was a crazy adventure that gave new meaning to "A Sparkling bride, inside and out."She says she now takes the ring off when going to sleep.The couple will get married in Evans' home state of Texas, hopefully with the ring in hand, next May. 1641

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Clairemont woman received a big shock when she looked at her doorbell camera video and found out who vandalized her truck.Every time Kris Larrabee looks at the scratch across the hood of her truck, she gets more upset."Deeply angry and deeply hurt," said Larrabee. The damage appeared Thursday morning after her husband parked the truck in the driveway the night before, blocking part of the sidewalk. "He came back from a long road trip, exhausted. He parked it there so he could unload it the next day," said Larrabee.Just before 6 a.m. on Caywood Street, their Ring video shows an older woman walking a dog, before she pauses to look at the truck. Immediately, she walks across the driveway and runs her hand along the hood, leaving behind a new scratch. Larrabee says repairs will total several thousand dollars."I couldn't believe it. I was shocked," said Larrabee.The identity of the culprit made her heart sink."She's a mature woman. At her age, she should have known better," said Larrabee.Larrabe was even more taken aback, because her other car has been keyed eight times in the driveway in the past year. She had suspected teenagers. In all, neighbors have reported dozens of similar incidents in the past year. A block away, the owner of a van and another vehicle tells 10News he has also been keyed eight times. In all those incidents, the sidewalk was partially blocked. The neighborhood is an older one with shorter driveways. "This is not the solution. She could have left a note. She could have come to us. There's no justification for the anger taken out on a neighborhood," said Larrabee.A detective has been assigned to the case and sources tell 10News police do know who the woman is. 1739

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A desperate Mira Mesa mother is pleading for tips after her teenage daughter disappeared, leaving behind a trail of disturbing clues.November 8th seemed like an ordinary Friday. Tina Camacho remembers asking her daughter Cirena Artero, 16, about her day at school."We talked, and she said her day was okay," said Camacho.Cirena is one of Camacho's five children."Around 6:45 p.m., we thought she went to her room. Around 7:30 p.m., we knew she was missing. Days later, family members found Cirena's phone, tossed a few blocks away between two homes."I felt fear because what teenager runs off without their phone," said Camacho.The fear grew when she took a closer look at her phone. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two San Diego City Council members called Wednesday on California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and District Attorney Summer Stephan to investigate San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott's possible role in an alleged child sexual abuse cover-up at the San Diego Junior Theatre.Council members Scott Sherman and Vivian Moreno sent a jointly written letter to Becerra and Stephan imploring them to investigate allegations made by attorney Matt Valenti that Elliott improperly shared information on the case with then-Junior Theatre Board member Gil Cabrera, who Valenti claims tried to silence the case's whistleblowers."We are writing to respectfully request your respective offices' review and consideration for appropriate action, as the authority to investigate these complaints falls under the jurisdiction of your departments," their letter states. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Border Patrol agent was injured after someone threw a rock at his patrol car, according to US Customs and Border Protection. The agency tweeted out several photos Monday morning that show the agent with a large cut on his face and what appears to be shattered glass in the patrol car. “Our agents face dangers like this one while maintaining the security of our nation,” the agency said.
