(KGTV) - USD head men's basketball coach Lamont Smith was arrested Sunday in the Bay Area and is facing three domestic violence charges, according to public records released by the San Francisco Sheriff's Department.Allen Lamont Smith, 42, was arrested at Oakland International Airport prior to the USD basketball team's flight back to San Diego following a 64-61 win over the University of San Francisco in last night's regular season finale.Officers were dispatched to the team hotel near Union Square late last night on reports of a domestic violence disturbance.RELATED: USD basketball coach Lamont Smith placed on administrative leaveThe victim told police she was intimately involved with Smith. (KGTV) - San Diego County residents who bought homes in the 90s are reaping the benefits of a hot housing market. Homebuyers who purchased their properties 20 years ago are “sitting pretty” in 2019, according to a study by GOBankingRates. The study ranked 15 California cities by property appreciation rates. Six of the top 10 increases were in the San Francisco area. Two Los Angeles-area cities, Santa Monica and Newport Beach, finished first and second on the list, respectively. The only San Diego County city on the list of top 20 locations for home appreciation was Encinitas. In 1999, the median home value in Encinitas was 3,500. The figure now stands at ,198,000, marking a 248.8 percent increase in value over 20 years, the study reports. The five-year rental income on an Encinitas home is 9,688, according to the study. (KGTV) — Southbound lanes of Interstate 405 in Westchester were shut down on a busy Friday afternoon following a police pursuit.Six lanes of traffic built up for miles behind the closure just after Braddock Dr., after a police pursuit ended with seven home invasion suspects taken into custody, according to KABC.Los Angeles Police stopped a white SUV on I-405, forcing each suspect to exit and lay down on the freeway before they were arrested, helicopter footage from the scene showed.Traffic was opened back up just before 3:45 p.m. Even after lanes were reopened, heavy Friday traffic blanketed the southbound side of the freeway.Footage of the standstill below: 675
