SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after they say four teenagers were beaten, stabbed and robbed near a City Heights elementary school Saturday night.Police say the four teens were in a skate park near Cherokee Point Elementary School on the 3900 block of Landis Street when they were approached by a group of men.According to police, the man tried to start an argument, so then teens ran to a pedestrian bridge where another group of men was waiting for them.Police say the approximately 15 men punched and kicked all four victims and stole their cell phones and wallets.One of the victims was stabbed in the elbow and another was cut on the finger.One of the victims was taken to the hospital for his injuries, police say. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- People throughout San Diego County are searching for answers after hearing a mysterious boom Wednesday afternoon. Dozens of San Diego Residents in La Jolla and Del Mar took to Twitter after hearing the noise before 12:45 p.m. "Felt it in La Jolla / Windansea - even my dogs started barking," one Twitter user said, referring to the noise. Several people wondered whether or not an earthquake could be to blame, but according to the United States Geological Survey, the nearest earthquake was a 2.9 magnitude near Corona reported at 4:16 a.m. Wednesday. USGS' website states that, "reports of a bang are a clue that it's a sonic boom, but not an ironclad indicator since shallow earthquakes often sound like booms or bangs."10News has reached out to military officials to see whether or not military exercises may have caused the boom.The Marine Corps, however, did send a statement that reads, in part: "While we are aware of media reports of a possible sonic boom, no 3rd MAW units have reported one in San Diego air space. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have identified both the victim and the suspect after a man died following a stabbing in Rancho Pe?asquitos Thursday afternoon. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 9500 block of High Park Lane just before 2 p.m.Police arrived as they say the suspect, Howard Forrest Lowe, 52, was riding away on a bike. Lowe was arrested and will be booked into jail on suspicion of murder, police say.After entering the home’s garage, police found 72-year-old Richard Dale Munsinger. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — President Donald Trump spoke Tuesday about the U.S.-Mexico border as his battle with Democratic lawmakers over border wall funding sends a government shutdown into nearly three weeks.President Trump is scheduled to meet with those working at the border in what the White House has called a "crisis" at the southern border.As Democratic lawmakers continue to flatly reject any funding for the President's border wall, Trump says he has considered declaring an "immigration emergency" in order to lock in funding.WATCH: President Trump's prime-time address hereTODAY'S BORDER BARRIERAbout 653 miles of the 2,000 miles across the U.S.-Mexico border has fencing or barrier, according to the Advocacy for Human Rights in the Americas.U.S. Customs and Border Protection has already set aside about .4 billion to fund construction of new and replacement barriers along the border, Newsy reports. However, according to CBP data, only 12 of those individuals were encountered at the southern border from October 2017 to October 2018, according to CNN.Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said earlier this month CBP has stopped over 3,000 "special interest aliens trying to come into the country on the southern border."However, there's no uniform definition of the term "special interest alien." Former Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly defined "special interest" as being "from parts of the world where terrorism is prevalent, or nations that are hostile to the United States," CNN reported. 4240
