SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Five baby foxes were rescued from a South Bay construction site after a worker spotted them below a pile of cement rocks set for destruction.A construction worker at an Otay Mesa work site alerted his manager to the a Grey fox and her five babies this week, before crews were set to break down the pile with a jackhammer, according to San Diego Humane Society.Humane officers responded and removed the large blocks over the den with the help of construction workers. The days-old babies — two males and three females — made it out safely, but their mother fled over the commotion.Officers tried to lure the mom with fox pup sounds and her babies to no avail. Monday morning, SDHS says they were able to trap the mother. The babies and mom were brought to SDHS's Project Wildlife center for care, before being transported to Fund for Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona. 894

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Friends of the Marine hit and killed in the Midway area said Monday the driver who struck him and left is a coward.Victor Molinar, 18, of Chicago had just graduated from boot camp and was stationed at Camp Pendleton about to start combat training. Ricardo Camacho met him in basic training and got the terrible news over the weekend.“He was a good kid, always say making people laugh. He had a good head on his shoulders. From the start when I met him, I knew he’d be a good Marine," said Camacho.Molinar was out with his friends Saturday night visiting the local night spots on Midway Drive and somehow got separated from his friends. They went to look for him and found his body in the road.Police say the driver who hit Molinar fled the scene. No suspect has been identified.“He was willing to give up his life defending his country and do all the right things and for him to do that and not even stopping to see who it was? It just sucks," Camacho said.Camacho told 10News the Marines have a buddy system and doesn’t know why Molinar was by himself. Police are looking for the suspect, but have little to go on right now. Camacho, who is having a hard time coping with his loss, told 10News he knows one thing about the suspect. “He’s a coward. Bottom line. Karma plays a big part in things, and he’ll get his. If he ran then he won’t come forward they’ll just have to find him. If he didn't do it then. He won’t come forward. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — FBI investigators are searching for a yellow Chevrolet Camaro in connection with an incident at a local park in May.Investigators say the individuals associated with the vehicle may have been a witness to the incident on May 31, 2020, at Kenmore Terrace Mini Park. The FBI did not elaborate on the incident.The Camaro is described as a two-door coupe with bright yellow paint and is believed to be a fifth-generation model year (2010-2015). In contrast to the yellow paint on the body of the Camaro, the hood, trunk, and spoiler are black. The vehicle also has a sunroof. This time of year also can signal a slowdown in the real estate market - and an opportunity for buyers.Germaine LaValade took advantage, and is about to own his first home. He’s in escrow for a four-bedroom home in North Pacific Beach, listed for .17 million. LaValade, a software engineer, said a big reason the seller chose him was because the sale would close before the end of the year for tax purposes.“Because we are renters right now we didn’t have any house to sell to buy this one,” LaValade said.A motivated seller is just one of the advantages a homebuyer may have in these winter months - far removed from peak summer season. Another help - interest rates, which have been on the rise, tend to soften as activity slows nationwide.“We’re seeing a lot of prices are coming down from the all-time highs that they were,” said San Diego realtor Gary Kent. “We’re probably off as much as 5 percent from the peak, peak, peak of the market.”But prices are still high in San Diego County.
