DALLAS (AP) — Ten states have brought a lawsuit against Google, accusing the search giant of “anti-competitive conduct” in the online advertising industry including a deal to manipulate sales with rival Facebook. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says Google is using its “monopolistic power” to control the pricing on online advertisements, fixing the market in its favor and eliminating its competition. Google is calling the suit “meritless” and says the price of online advertising has fallen over the last decade. According to records released by Paxton's office, Texas is suing along with Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah. 698

DEL MAR (CNS) - A 3-year-old filly suffered a fatal injury during a morning workout Saturday at the Del Mar.Lovely Lilia pulled up after the workout at about 5 a.m. and veterinarians said the horse could not be saved and was euthanized, according to Mac McBride, Del Mar's director of media.Lovely Lilia was eased in her final race, a mile turf race at Santa Anita Park June 12, which she led at the halfway point.Lovely Lilia made seven starts, winning twice and finishing second once, earning ,551.Del Mar made the safety of people and horses the leading theme of its 81st summer meet which began Friday with no fans in the stands for the first time because of the coronavirus pandemic.The meet's horse and rider safety initiatives amplified measures Del Mar introduced over the last several seasons of racing that led it to being recognized as one the nation's safest racetracks for 2018 and 2019, according to figures from The Jockey Club's Equine Injury Database provided by the track.Del Mar had a rate of 0.79 fatal injuries per 1,000 starts in 2018 and 0.62 in 2019. The national average for track's reporting was 1.68.While there were no racing deaths, there were four training deaths during last year's summer meet and three racing deaths and two in training during the fall meet.Del Mar is continuing its Entry Review Panel of regulatory veterinarians who will oversee the entries of all horses and provide an additional review of each of their medical, training and racing histories. The panel will recommend to the track's stewards that any horse it deems unfit for competition be barred from racing.Del Mar is furthering its adoption of reforms modeled after the International Federation Horseracing Association requirements. Rules surrounding nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories have been enhanced and extended, and additional rules regarding other equine medications have been clarified and codified.Random testing will continue for any horse at Del Mar, including ones readying for, or having just completed, morning workouts.Just as they were last summer, veterinarians are stationed at elevated observation points at the facility to oversee morning workouts and will have the ability -- through communication with outriders -- to remove horses from the racetrack and have them undergo a follow-up soundness examination.Exercise riders and jockeys again will be prohibited from using a riding crop to encourage their horses during morning workouts.The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club created a stakeholder advisory committee last summer represented by trainers, veterinarians, jockeys, racing surfaces maintenance personnel and management that met regularly to discuss safety practices, operations and track surfaces. DELANO, Calif. (KGTV) - Two people died in a crash Tuesday after a traffic stop by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in the city of Delano, near Bakersfield.The Delano Police Department arrived at the scene of the rollover just before 7 a.m. Officers found the SUV on its roof with two victims inside.Police said the SUV had been speeding when the driver went onto a dirt shoulder and lost control. The SUV flipped and stopped after it hit a power pole, according to police.The man and woman inside the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.Delano officers determined ICE agents had pulled over the SUV before the crash. Agents got out of their vehicle but the SUV driver left the scene. The SUV crashed a short time later.There is no word on the identities of the victims or why they were pulled over. 824

Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris said Thursday that she would suspend in-person campaigning until Oct. 19 after she encountered two people who have contracted COVID-19.According to a statement from Biden campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon, a "non-staff flight crew member" and Harris' communications director, Liz Allen, both tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.The Biden campaign said that during its contact tracing, a member of the company that charters Joe Biden's airplane tested positive for the coronavirus. The Biden campaign said that the crew member was at least 50 feet away from Biden at all times, and Biden wears an N95 mask during flights. The Biden campaign does not plan on altering his schedule.According to the campaign, Harris was "not in close contact, as defined by the CDC," with either person. While she does not need to quarantine by CDC guidelines, the campaign has canceled her travel through Sunday "out of an abundance of caution."The campaign added that those who tested positive have not had any contact with Biden campaign staffers since thier diagnosis.Harris took PCR COVID-19 tests on Oct. 8 and Oct. 14, both of which have come back negative.Harris was scheduled to campaign in North Carolina on Thursday. 1276

DENVER — Convicted murderer Chris Watts has been moved from a Colorado prison to another prison out of state.Four sources confirm to KMGH's Jace Larson that Chris Watts was transferred from the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center, where a new prison inmate goes after conviction, to an undisclosed facility out of state. Victims’ families -- who requested to be alerted -- have been notified, two of the four sources with knowledge of the movement told KMGH. Watts' current location has not been identified, except to victims' families, the source said.Watts pleaded guilty last month to killing his pregnant wife Shanann Watts and their two young daughters at their home in Frederick, Colorado in August. He was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.The Colorado Department of Corrections inmate locator shows Watts' location as the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center, but this is no longer the case.The move occurred as part of an interstate compact where high-profile prisoners can be moved to another state’s system, or occasionally the federal prison system, for safety.
