Every traveler has their pet peeves, but crying babies are almost guaranteed to grate. Now Japan Airlines has revealed a new tool that lets you dodge infants when you book your seat."Passengers traveling with children between 8 days and 2 years old who select their seats on the JAL website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen," reads the airline's website."This lets other passengers know a child may be sitting there."And one Twitter user praised the feature following a recent flight."Thank you, @JAL_Official_jp for warnings me about where babies plan to scream and yell during a 13 hour trip," wrote Rahat Ahmed."This really ought to be mandatory across the board."Before babyphobes get too excited, Japan Airlines cautions that the baby map will not display child icons in certain situations. It only works for bookings made through the JAL website, for example, and icons will not display if there is a change in aircraft. If you are taking a small child on your trip, JAL offers a number of services to make your experience better. The airline provides a number of strollers for rent in the airport, and will accept baby strollers as checked baggage for free.Passengers traveling with infants also enjoy priority boarding, and offers hot water for bottles as well as diaper changing facilities on board.CNN has contacted JAL for comment. 1394

Despite the rise of streaming services like Netflix, going to the movies is still a billion dollar business in America. COVID-19 has closed the doors of theaters across the nation, but as things start to reopen, some theaters are prepping for incoming changes. The Ruth Sokolof Theater in Omaha was getting ready for a busy summer, but thanks to the pandemic they were dealt a plot twist. “Our priority is and will continue to be reopening when it’s safe and appropriate to do so,” said Casey Logan, Deputy Director of Film Streams.Their doors have been shut since early March, and with so many seats close together, things will definitely look different when the show goes on.“A checkerboard style seating where there’s groups of seating all with six feet or more apart so that there is that distance between groups in the theaters,” said Logan. He says certain events like one-time screenings with a visiting filmmaker that brings hundreds of people won’t be presented the same or maybe, not at all. “We’re just expected that there would be events that in normal times that we would be presenting that we won’t be able to present in the months ahead,” said Logan.Limited crowd size and social distancing are the two big changes, but there’s other things theaters should consider.“You don’t give the same seat to two consecutive shows and in-between screenings you have to somehow sanitize the theater,” said Dr. Phani Tej Adidam, Chair & Professor of Marketing of Entrepreneurship at UNO.He adds moviegoers should be part of a loyalty program for contact tracing purposes.“If something happens they should have the ability to trace all the people who came in and all the people they were in contact with,” said Adidam.Theaters may struggle with content as well, as summer blockbusters continue to be delayed. Logan says it may take time, but he’s confident the industry will bounce back.“I think people miss that experience of coming to cinemas, we’re certainly hearing from a lot of people that are looking forward to the day when we reopen so that they can have those experiences again,” said Logan. He also says changes to concessions will also be important to limit person to person interaction, and that buying tickets online before the show, is something movie goers should take advantage of. 2313

Facebook has launched a civil rights task force and an election monitoring center to guard against interference in the 2020 presidential campaign and census, the tech giant said Sunday. The Facebook task force, chaired by COO Sheryl Sandberg, follows pressure from civil rights groups and minorities who say the company has not done enough to combat anti-democratic tactics such as voter intimidation and suppression. The US election team will be established by the end of the year. The moves underscore worries of a new boom in political interference as the United States enters a pivotal campaign season. And it reflects a growing push by Facebook to build decision-making structures inside and outside the company that can show it is capable of responsibly handling disinformation and hate speech and safeguarding user data.Sunday's announcement came as a leading civil rights expert released her second interim report in a multi-year audit of the social media company. The report, a copy of which was reviewed by CNN, said Facebook has improved in the way it incorporates civil rights concerns into its products, but raised questions about the long-term durability of those efforts."As the largest social media company in the world, what Facebook has committed to here is a consequential and important start," wrote report author Laura Murphy, a former legislative director of the American Civil Liberties Union. "But only if it continues to build upon what it is announcing today."Facebook promises to roll out a range of additional policies in the coming months reflecting the report's recommendations. Advertisements trying to persuade users not to vote will soon be forbidden, for example. The company will restrict how housing, credit and job advertisers may target users so as to prevent discrimination by age and gender, which has repeatedly been 1868
