The Phoenix Police Department says the ex-boyfriend of Kiera Bergman, a 19-year-old woman who has been missing since August 4, has been arrested for identity theft.Police say 23-year-old Jon Clark was being questioned in relation to Bergman’s disappearance when police found several items with the personal identification of other people as well as items indicating forgery in his vehicle.Clark was arrested Friday and booked into jail for 22 counts of aggravated identity theft and two counts of forgery.Police have given no indication that this arrest connects Clark to Bergman’s missing person’s case.Bergman was last seen at her home near on Aug. 4.According to police, Bergman never returned home after leaving and has not been seen or heard from since.Kiersten Bragg, Bergman's mother, says her daughter went to work that Saturday morning, and Clark picked her up but she never made it back to their apartment.Police still say her disappearance is considered suspicious, and they are still asking anyone with any information on her disappearance to call 480-WITNESS. 1085

The Harford County, Maryland Sheriff's Department is hoping you can help find the people who tried to steal an ATM from a Shell Gas station.The attempted theft happened at 3:34 a.m. on March 16. Two unknown individuals broke into a Shell station in Belcamp, Maryland.Surveillance video shows one suspect wrapping a chain around the ATM.  Another suspect is in a vehicle and tries to pull it out of the store using the vehicle. They were unsuccessful.  Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Amanda McCormack at 443-567-7091 or you can submit an anonymous tip with Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.  668

The Miss America Organization is sharing the sad news of the death of Leanza Cornett, Miss America in 1993, at the age of 49.“Leanza had a bright and beautiful spirit and her laugh was infectious. We know she meant so much to so many, including all of you. The Los Angeles Police Department says an investigation is underway after a man attacked and robbed three transgender women in Hollywood on Monday.KTLA-TV in Los Angeles said police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.Video of a portion of the assault was widely shared on social media. It shows the suspect assaulting the women and also demanding clothing and jewelry from them.According to the LAPD, the man went up to one of the victims with a metal bar and told her to give him her shoes and bracelet. He then grabbed her hand and walked with her for a short distance before she was able to escape.Later, police say the suspect attacked one of the woman's friends with a bottle, knocking her to the ground.The suspect also allegedly made derogatory remarks about the victims' sexual identity during the attack.LAPD shared a photo of the suspect in the hopes of tracking him down. 902

The NCAA announced on Thursday that college football bowl games can commence this season on December 1.In the past, teams needed to have a 6-6 (.500) record at a minimum in order to qualify for a bowl game. But with most teams playing a truncated schedule, the NCAA is lifting its minimum requirement to qualify for bowl games.The news comes as the Pac-12 announced that it will begin play Nov. 6. The announcement means all five of the so-called “power 5” conferences will attempt to play a college football season amid the coronavirus pandemic.The Big 10 and Pac-12 originally decided to postpone starting the season. Advances in rapid testing and public pressure caused the leagues to change their decisions.“Providing a more flexible framework for the postseason in this unprecedented time will provide some certainty moving forward,” said Shane Lyons, director of athletics at West Virginia and chair of the oversight committee. “These are important postseason opportunities for our student-athletes, and this will help everyone to prepare.” 1054
