SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An injured cyclist is searching for answers along with some items that disappeared after a possible hit-and-run crash Monday.Rick Cessinger started biking from Ocean Beach to his home in Mission Beach around 4 p.m. Monday after leaving the home of his friend, Janet Kelleher."He put his backpack and helmet on, and rides off," said Kelleher.The handyman biked down Catalina Boulevard. About a mile and a half away, there was a crash near the intersection of Catalina Boulevard and Tennyson Street, leaving Cessinger unconscious. A day later, Cessinger woke up in a hospital with six broken ribs, a fractured collarbone, a punctured lung, and little memory of what happened.A photo of the bike helmet reveals it was cracked in the back. Kelleher retired from a career in law enforcement."It seems to me he was hit from the back and ejected off the bike ... It's bad. It's disgraceful. How does someone hit someone and drive off?" said Kelleher.That question is just one of many. Here's another one: Was Cessinger also robbed? Paramedics left Cessinger a bag with his helmet and shoes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An Encinitas family on vacation woke up to a disturbing alert last week, video of someone stealing multiple packages from their porch.Homeowner Mark Sandorf says the most peculiar thing was who the thief was."It’s different in that she looks like she’s probably someone’s grandma," said Sandorf.The family immediately filed a police report from New Mexico.10News blurred the woman's face because the San Diego Sheriff's Department has not yet said she's a wanted suspect.One of the packages had sentimental value, three custom holsters for Sandorf's son who is in law enforcement."My son is, like I said, risking his life out there every day and we try to keep him in good equipment and what not. These were custom made by a friend of mine in South Carolina," said Sandorf.Sandorf says the most frustrating thing is knowing the holsters will likely get thrown away.He hopes others in his Encinitas Ranch neighborhood will be on alert after the incident. 980

The report, released Thursday by Apartment List, claims that the number of “super commuters,” people who travel more than 90 minutes to work each way, has increased by more than 31 percent since 2005. In the same time frame, the number of Americans working from home has increased by 76 percent, according to the report. While the share of super commuters in San Diego may be modest, some people have decided not to commute at all.
