-SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND (CNS) - The remains of seven U.S. Marines and a Navy sailor were recovered Friday after going missing near San Clemente Island when their amphibious vehicle sank during a training mission last month.The remains were recovered during underwater salvage operations, the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force announced Friday evening. Gen. SAN DIEGO -- Video taken Tuesday shows people climbing on top of the border fence near Friendship Park near the Pacific Coast US/Mexico border as the migrant caravan approaches.According to a Border Patrol spokesperson, agents are keeping watch on the U.S. side of the park, but aren’t aware of anyone climbing all the way over onto the U.S. side of the beach.Border Patrol says it’s technically not legal for people to sit on the fence because it’s on U.S. soil, but no arrests are being made at this time.It’s unclear whether or not the group is with the migrant caravan.The incident comes as U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the closure of several northbound border lanes in San Ysidro and Otay Mesa.The closures are expected to cause delays. 765

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A teenager was hospitalized after he was shot by a police officer in Salt Lake City Friday night.According to Salt Lake City police Sgt. Keith Horrocks, officers were dispatched to the area of 500 South and Navajo Street just after 10 p.m. on reports of a "juvenile" — police did not release his exact age — having a mental health episode and threatening people with a weapon.Police say the boy fled on foot when officers arrived, and one officer shot him.Officers administered aid until medical personnel arrived and transported the boy to a local hospital in serious condition.Wesley Barton, who said he is the boy's brother, tweeted that he is 13 years old and is in stable condition.An officer-involved critical incident protocol investigation has been launched, which includes an investigation conducted by local departments other than Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD).
