SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — First responders were called to a downtown San Diego intersection after a San Diego Sheriff's inmate transfer van and Tesla collided Wednesday.The crash was reported at Sixth Ave. and A St. just before 3 p.m. after the Tesla reportedly side-swiped the inmate van. There were 12 inmates on the van, plus to driver and a sheriff's deputy, according to San Diego Police.The inmates were evaluated by first responders on the van, but no one was transported to the hospital, police said. 509

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hillcrest will soon be home to San Diego’s first rainbow crosswalk to represent the community’s role in LGBTQ+ history. The rainbow crosswalk, similar to those in cities like San Francisco and Seattle, will be located at Normal Street and University Avenue. “The installation of a rainbow crosswalk has been a long-standing goal of the San Diego LGBTQ+ community. Hillcrest deserves a visual representation of the LGBTQ+ movement and its goals of visibility, acceptance and inclusion,” said Councilmember Chris Ward’s office. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Heavy rain brought lightning and flooding to some areas of San Diego, submerging vehicles in some parts of the county.In Coronado, several vehicles became submerged on 1st St. soon after the rain began to pour. In one instance, a local helped to push a stalled vehicle out of the flooded area. Other vehicles had to wait until the water subsided in order to drive out of the area.Signs were eventually posted along 1st St. warning drivers of flooded areas. SATURDAY FORECASTElsewhere Friday, scattered lightning and thunder prompted delays to SDSU football's?game at SDCCU Stadium.
